Will Doug's Headers Fit or What???

the bold text is flat out wrong. collectorlocation may be similar but there is big diferences on the rest of the routing.

    leaky headers......

straighten the flanges out, dont bandaid it. MrGasket ultra seals are usualy a good gasket.

wanted better collector gaskets for ho manifolds

are the flat flares on the pipes straight? are the flanges straight? are the pipes in any kind of bind ? no kind of gasket will handle any of those things over time.

    what headers are these?

only way to make those fit a early A body would be by cutting them up into pieces and look at them as a weld up kit.. you would probably have to buy a few extra bends to finnish it anyway after that.

    75 Dart - Stock Muffler O.D. and I.D. measurements? 225/6

well its not a new car by any standard you may want to do alitle measuring under the car just to be sure on lenght inlet/outlet possition and tubesizes. i have worked with exhausts for about 10years and its almost impossible to sell the right muffler based on application on anything from the...

Differing size pipes make much difference?

there may be more variables to that pontiac, i agree to some of that thinking but i can also se how that would work on a chamberd or 3pass muffler but dont think it would work as good on a car with absorbation mufflers. also depending on the whole car those 3" exhaust pipes may be overkill in...

    Header advice

TTI is my choice but i never personaly tried any dougs, but the dougs i have seen live have looked like a quality product. im on my second set of TTI´s now and while installing i had my doubts about how those big 1 7/8" primarys was going to fit with powersteering but now that they are...

    318 swap headers wont fit.

a few pics would help i think in seeing where the problem is. it also depends on what brand and what partnumber they are how they fit, most of the less expensive headers have the steering centerlink going thru the driverside header some headers where never designed for cars with...

    Primary stubs

just one thing to think of,it can be a royal PITA to weld tubing to the two centerstubs, they have a habit of being very tight togheter on smallblocks atleast, thats one place where i prefer to size the pipe to the flange and then weld the pipe to the flange directly form the inside.

    Primary stubs

YouTube - ‪Custom Headers Part (1 of 6 ).wmv‬‏ thats the first part in a series of 6 parts on how to make headers somewhere in it they show how to form the pipe to fit the flange, its not all that hard just takes alitle practice :)

    Dougs

sorry but i cant see it,big diference even considering how little space there is to build the pipes diferent. both keep all there pipes above the centerlink and both have collectors pointing in simmilar directions thats where the similaritys are.. here´s a pic to compare:

New mufflers from Accurate Exhaust Products.

looks good and sounds very nice, i had almost forgot how good it sounds without an X-pipe!
  15. D

    Purple Hornies exhaust

they are still around, made by flowtech.. to be honest im not a fan of them for one simple reason, why put a 2" muffler right after you headers that probably has 3" collectors?
  16. D

    waldron exhaust

have seen there site a few times and they give the impression of being serious about what they are doing, and since i work with the same stuff its always nice to see others work:) on the other guys,it may be a hassle but atleast it seems like they did the right thing and stood behind there...

    2.5 exhaust

could be both the mufflers and the whole combo, this is mostly found on cars with chambered mufflers but hardrunning engines tend to create alite of that even with absorbationtype mufflers

x-pipe and exit in front of rear tires?

that statement is actualy true, however it was more of a showoff thing the same weekend as a big carshow with lots of cruising and a big burnoutcontest is held in västerås. i bet there is pics of it findable on google if i just reserch it to death.. YouTube - Dragster doing burnout at...

x-pipe and exit in front of rear tires?

Rumblefish please dont start the whole "whats a streetcar?" deal i thought you might have seen where that one leads before? what is streetable is up to the owner,i know there is lots of 7-8-9second cars driven on the street that are more reliable than the average 10-11sec bracket car. i...

x-pipe and exit in front of rear tires?

that article is nice and pretty wellthought out.but i would not bet my life on the findings in it,especialy regarding pipesizes and generalisasion about that you could step down in diameter after the mufflers and after the X-pipe reason for this is, steping down in diameter on the tailpipes may...

    exhaust leak

where is the leak? at the cylinderheads or collectors? if collectors what style flange are they? are the flanges straight? what kind of gaskets have you tried? i have had great luck with the MrGasket Ultra seals, forget about the white ones they have a bad habit of leaking and burn.

    TTI's are leaking

if you have a mufflershop close by that you realy thrust they may be able to just slightly expand the #7 pipe to fit perfect into its slipjoint but there is a risk that they overexpand it. if you would have lived close by i would have done it for free for you :thumblef:
  23. D

    TTI's are leaking

no sealer on the slipjoint on my headers either and no problem getting them apart and no leaks either.. how is the fit of the slipjoint? its very easy to overexpand a piece of pipe when building the headers

    Exhaust leak help

since you wrote smoke i would sugest having another check so its not just alitle oil from the valvecovergaskets leaking, usualy dont smoke at the manifolds, just puffing alitle.

    Exhaust with spring relocation

may be possible to do a diferent routing of the pipes tight under the framrail and and overt the spring angled out behind the wheels and then turn it back again towards the bumper outside the springs, not sure since i have never tried it,basicly the way its done on gen1&2 GM F-bodys with pipes...

    exhaust leak at Manifold-TTI 2 1/2 " downpipe

i think first you have to figure out why its leaking, is it the pipe being bent wrong or is it the flange being to wrong size? could also be the flange being warped from to much heat while welding. you cant add bends with a mandrelbender if you want to keep your pipes mandrelbent unless its...
