Not sure about the dents you mention, but put Remflex gaskets on 440 with iron exhaust with 1/8+ gaps between manifolds and heads...torqued to iron exhaust torque spec, retorqued...no leaks at all...years later still no leaks and no need to retorque.

I added Magnaflow straight thru mufflers to the tailpipes of my ebody, with regular turbo muffs ahead of the rear axle. Sound is good, no drone. I would say try it, they do make a difference.

The exact same thing I found out. The short ones are just loud enough to drone at cruise speed. Replaced them with the longer Dynomax super turbo #17748. The drone went away, you can talk at highway speeds, still has a performance sound.....heads turn as you go by...
