I've seen Mopar performance valve covers hit the intake runners on numerous engines. Had to grind and grind on my old Mopar perf covers to get them to clear the intake on my old 360. It's worse if the heads have been milled a bunch

My guess is he screwed up the rocker arm to valve stem tip geometry. If it's a real mild cam it may last a while, maybe. I sure wouldn't have done it. Let me guess, he's too cheap to spend $50-60 for the right pushrods? Or the Chevy guys told him it's ok to do it that way, just like they told...

No easy solution. Either have a machine shop drill the block like a LA is or figure out some other way to plumb oil to the rocker shafts.

Hughes Engines has a complete set. Rockers, guide plates, studs. All for $345. The only other thing you'd need is pushrods. And no machining required. Just bolt them on and adjust them. I'm building a stroker and using EQ heads prepped by Hughes and searched around and can't find a better deal...
