    steering box firm feel opinions

I have used both the firm feel, and Borgeson. I like the Firm Feel, because it bolted right in, and works with the stock pump. I have stage 3. I wish it was a stage 2. I feel the stage 3 is good for autocross, but not that great for daily driving. Borgeson is more expensive. I bought the...

Any chance you have poly lower control arm bushings? They don't hold the pin like rubber.

I also used the SSBC kit. No issues.

    Gasser Look

I jacked up my torsion bars on my 64 sport Fury. Took it for a high speed run. The front end started bouncing off the ground at about 80. Scared the **** out of me. I was 17.

Drag racing setup vs Street Rod? Shocks or ??

Well, that's alot of problems. I can see why you had issues. I'm rooting for you, because I am building a 505 stroker from 440 source. Merry Christmas.

Drag racing setup vs Street Rod? Shocks or ??

What I'm going to say is for reference, not to brag. I have a 64 Sport Fury with a 440 has a cast crank. .505 intake, .515 exhaust 3.91 locker rear, 3000 stall converter. Rpm intake, with a 750 race demon. 1 3/4 headers. 1 1/8 front sway bar, .920 bars, KYB shocks. Nothing removed, or...

    Dana in a dart

You can move the rear back on the springs, but you have to be mindful that the springs are an arc, and you will change the pinion angle to more of a nose down position.

Tire discounters can’t align my Dart.

I had my Dart aligned at two different shops. Both were horrible. I bought some ebay turn plates, and the Longacre alignment kit. Had 2 problems first, I couldn't get the alignment kit to give repeatable readings. The rounded tips would not stay in the same place. Second, every time I jacked up...

    Alignment Help

That's why I learned to do it myself. I took it to 2 shops. Drove worse than when I brought it to them. It isn't easy to adjust without jacking. I have turn plates. I made small ,long ramps, so, when I'm pulled onto the turn plates, my back tires are on the ramps, so the car is level. As was...

    Alignment Help

To the op, if you're doing it at home, one thing that kept biting my ***, was do not jack the car up. It changes everything. Once I drove it around, then onto turn plates, i did what you were told, and perfect. Also, I bought one of those Longacre kits with the digital angle finder. The part...

    ....another suspension question

2 1/2 inch lift is a lot. Won't look too good. Do your wheels, or tires require the back being lifted? I run 245/60/15 on my Dart with no issues. Stock shocks, and springs.

Any down sides of going Borgeson vs Firm Feel?

Not trying to start any fights, but I have the Firm Feel on my Dart. Works great. The Borgeson box needed a matching pump, and the column adapter, and the larger of the two fittings. Plus I had to dent the header some more, when I expected to have more room. To do it again, I would use Firm Feel.

Need a favor from those with SBM and power steering.

There should be no movement at the mounting brackets, or the pulleys. If the pulley is moving in, and out, I would change the pump. If it moves at the brackets, do whatever it takes to stabilize the pump, and align the pulley.

    Power Steering Noise

I know that you have a small block, but my B body had the stock pulleys on my 440. And the ps belt went around the crankshaft pulley, to the WP, and then to the PS pulley. It didn't have enough of the belt wrapped around the pulleys, and it would squeal. Maybe post a picture.

    Power Steering Noise

I think you answered your own question. If it squeals, and you take the belt off, and it stops, there's your answer. Try a new belt, increase the belt tension, put belt dressing on it.

DIY alignment. What to adjust first?

Make sure you don't jack up the car before, or during, the alignment. My Dart kept changing settings, until I realized the car needed to settle.

    Power steering belt issue

I have had so called high performance water pump shaft be too long. Threw the pulleys out of alignment. Do you have the old pump to compare to? Are the water pump, and crank pulley aligned properly? Put the p/s belt on, and take a picture, so we can see where the contact is.

    BORGESON steering box

This is the style box that is on my car. I get the hissing also, but i don't think it's as loud as the posted video. I'm using the Chrysler style coupler that Bergmans makes so you don't have to cut the steering shaft. There's no isolation between the box, and the wheel. That's where I feel the...

    BORGESON steering box

Mine also has the hissing noise. The noise is annoying, but the performance is good. I also have the pump from Bergmans, so, I know it has enough pressure. Would adding a p/s cooler help? Would reducing pump pressure help?

    Lca bushing help.

Just recently did my LCA bushings. I had one that was a tight fit on the pin, until I pressed it in. Then it distorted, and the pin would just slide in/out. Had to put in a new bushing. FWIW, I've seen 2 types of bushings. One looks like the OP's bushing the other style has rubber covering the...

    BORGESON steering box

I put this box on my 64 Sport Fury. Due to the engine sitting farther forward than 66-up b bodies, My headers hit badly in a couple spots. The headers fit fine with the stock ps box. I bought the kit from GMachine. Kept getting the squealing at full turns. There are two fittings he sells. Mine...

    Front end alignment at home

It's hard, because you have to make an investment in equipment. I have about $500 invested in turn plates, toe plates, and a digital caster/camber gauge. It's hard because you don't have a rack to work on. It's a lot of getting up, and down. going back, and forth checking things. I just got...
