    Recommendations for New Fuel Tank

Tanks, inc, or Spectra. If you can, save your old fuel sending unit. The new ones suck. And re use your original lock ring. The new ones don't seal well.

    340 intake questions

Yup, it gets into the 20s in the winter, but bounces back to the 70s. But I have an electric choke on the car, and I just drive it in nice weather, so I don't need the crossover.

    340 intake questions

That is what confused me. I wanted aluminum for weight, spread bore for flexibility, but I don't want the port mis match. It's not something I need to do, just something I wanted to.

    340 intake questions

I do have a stock intake on it now. I was thinking of killing a couple birds at the same time. I thought maybe get an aluminum intake for light weight, block the heat crossover, try a thermoquad, but I might just change the intake gasket since I don't need heat in the manifold.

    340 intake questions

I knew that, and that is why I was thinking of changing the intake. Also would like to block the crossover at the same time.

    340 intake questions

I see intakes for small blocks advertised for all small blocks. What about the port mis match with 340 heads? Are the professional products intakes good for a mild 340? The 69 340 intake has small bores, and I was thinking that I would like to try a Thermoquad carb.

    Highlighting script on LD340 intake

If you want a color on the letters, then get a small paint roller with the shortest nap you can find. Paint intake, then roll the contrasting color on the letters.

Paint the whole intake, and then sand the tops of the letters.

70 Swinger 340 Engine Throttle Bracket

First, you need the Chrysler throttle lever adapter for your carburetor. Was this car originally a 2 barrel? If so, you need a longer 4 barrel specific cable. If not, then you can just buy a taller cable bracket, or if you just want to get it going, spacers under the bracket where it bolts to...

Rebuilt top end of engine now carb idles much higher? Please help

Simple test for a vacuum leak is to cover the carburetor with a rag. If it smoothes out, you have a leak. If it slows down, or stalls, it's not that.

    Electric fuel pump recommendations?

I'm running a Carter electric fuel pump on my Sport Fury. Not too loud. My Dart, has a pusher electric pump, just for when the car sits for a while. Look at the fuel line as it goes along the frame. It is close to the exhaust by the engine. Might want to wrap it. Maybe the metal from the braided...

    Holley stumble trouble

I'm wondering about the original post says it's got a 10.5 power valve. At 10 inches vacuum.

    Holley idle mixture screws

If the power valve is bad, you'll know it. I had one go bad, and the engine spit, and sputtered, and wouldn't idle., so I would think that yours is ok.

    Idle Fluctuates

Easiest test, is to put your hand over the carb, and see if it has any effect. If so, check for vacuum leaks. Carb cleaner should help. Also, make sure you set the timing before making any carb changes. If all that checked out, turn the mixture screws in until the engine slows down, then back...

    Carb recommendation

Be very careful here. I have the 69 stock intake on my 340, and the intake bores are smaller than a standard Holley. Measure before ordering. As has been said, if it runs well other than the fuel boiling issue, there's not much point in changing the carb, unless you're looking for more power...

    1970 Swinger 340 sending unit

The new rings that come with the senders are terrible. If you have it, save, and use the original.

    1970 Swinger 340 sending unit

I don't want to correct anyone, but this isn't right. In the directions, it states that you set the rotary dial to 7 when using the Mopar style mechanical IVR. I just installed a Meter Match in my Dart, after looking for years for a stock sender, including posting a want ad on here. My...

383 Wont Idle with new to me 800cfm DP. Idles and runs ok with Edelbrock/AFB

I was told a dial back timing light on an MSD equipped car won't read properly. I have a timing tape, so, I just use the standard type of light. Maybe try reducing the secondary some, while opening the primaries. possibly having the primaries too far closed is affecting the transfer slots. I...

Looking For A Quiet Electric Fuel Pump

I have the Carter pump that requires a regulator. It's quiet when the engine is running. Well it's makes the same amount of noise all the time. Just can't hear it when the engine is running. I also wired mine through an inertia switch, and an oil pressure switch. Alot of work, but much safer.

    Is my carb ok?

You have it, use it. I've had double pumpers on automatic cars. Work well when you get them set up right.

Bypass vs Deadhead fuel pressure regulator question.

If vapor lock is a consideration, getting rid of the Edelbrock carb is the first place to start. They have small float bowls that pick up alot of heat from the engine. I have a dead head system on my 64 Sport Fury using a Carter pump, and 1/2 inch line to the regulator. Then 3/8 line to each...

On older Holleys, some times they warp. You need to check the main body with a straight edge, and check the metering plate too.

    fuel delivery problem

If the electric fuel pump is mounted high, you will still have the same issue. You could leave the fuel lines attached, and unbolt the pump from the mounts, so it hangs down some, and try it again.

    fuel delivery problem

If I read this right, your fuel line comes from the tank, to the filter, to the electric fuel pump, then to the carb. If this is how it's set up, it won't work. I also have a Carter electric fuel pump. I had a cannister filter before the pump. I had to switch it do the pump was before the...

Current linkage not allowing for full throttle

Hard to tell, since I'm on my cell phone, but it looks like you need the Mopar throttle lever adapter. Summit has them. It gives the correct pivot point for your pedal. The part number is 1481.

    Carb experts questions

To give some ideas to others, I pulled the carb, and disassembled the front. I sprayed carb cleaner through every hole I could find. There was a passage from the main body to the throttle bore under the butterflies that was clogged on the side I was having trouble with. I sprayed carb cleaner...
