    I've done it now!

There's been talk about a 1/8 mile track in Brooksville for a couple years. Not sure when it will happen. Lead foot city is the name of the company trying to get it going

    Parts rant

All goes back to not wanting to have inventory. Then you're left with hoping their suppliers aren't some **** company, or the company that they get raw materials from. We lose either way. I bought new furniture in October. We finally got it a few weeks ago. In talking to the delivery guys...

    Parts rant

The biggest problem I see, is the companies in the supply chain won't carry inventory. It costs money to have something in stock. So the answer is to have as little as possible on hand. When this happens all down the chain, we end up the loser. I saw this in the grocery store business. Their...

    Holley/Demon Carb stumble

I agree. you need to check timing first. then consider temperature. It will stumble if the engine is cold. Go back to the stock squirter for now. consider rebuilding the carb. best to know what you have. Also I had 2 new power valves be defective.took a while to sort. So, if you have the timing...

    New motor, loose rocker...

I had a fresh engine lose it's rocker adjustment. Thought it was the cam. It was the pushrod tips eating themselves. New better quality pushrods, and all good. Look at the tips.

    moving axle one inch backwards

I did the drilling a new hole in the spring mounting perch, drilled it 1 inch forward of the stock hole, to move the rear back. Worked ok, but screwed up the pinion angle, due to the rear springs being an arc. Had to reset the pinion angle. If you do this, check pinion angle before doing...

    Advice on moving forward

Looks like the issue is in the launch. I think the 391 is a good idea, but i also think the carb and timing is part of it. I was able to drop over a second with just a different carb, and timing, and shift points. Your converter sounds like it's working ok.

    Cold starting.

Work with the tune, as was said. Shouldn't be that hard to get started.

Just Google 360 Mopar in a Gremlin. There's a bunch of info.

Help me shave off 3 tenths in the 1/4

I don't blame you for not wanting to gut the car. My 64 Sport Fury ran very close to those times. It went 12.12 @110 with a 1.76 60 foot. I feel my car is as fast as it's going to be without some major changes that will compromise the streetability. It seems that's where you're at. Any...

How the F... dose one remove the shift lever off a 904 in the car?

Along with all the other ideas, after you loosen the clamping bolt on the arm, it helps to stick a screwdriver in the arm , and spread it. Then it comes off.

What do you bring to the track with you for a day of racing?

Everything already said, plus cotter pins. Damned shifter.

did FABO miss the boat ?

There's a thread on here mentioning these valve covers. There might be a small tab in the opening for the grommet that can possibly dislodge and get into your engine. Just check before you install. Awesome find. You never see them anymore.

    Red Devil Racers....LOL

That show flat out blows. Looks like it was made by the same a holes that made Fat and Furious. I'm getting sick of car shows that make car guys look like morons. They showed a 69 Mustang, and called it a 67. How about some research. I don't know fat Harpo. So I don't care if his father passed...

    TNT'ers think they are racers

I like to TnT too. I am racing myself. My ability to tune, launch, and build and modify my car. I went from 13.20's to 12.12, just by working with the car. Most was in the carb, and timing. Not bad for a 64 Sport Fury with full interior, and sway bars front and rear. The people at the drags I...

14.45 with 12 sec combo... HELP

I think the OP said he had no traction. If so, that needs to be fixed before any other changes, because if you start making more power, you will just spin more. Look at drag radial tires. The widest you can fit on the widest wheel that fits.

    Bradenton or Tampa anyone?

From what I recall, Lakeland is an eighth mile track. No one could get any traction, because dirt was blowing all over from the mud bog track next to it. May have changed. I prefer quarter mile tracks. Bradenton was good.

    Car ran slower then expected.

I run the Carter high volume mechanical fuel pump on my 64 Sport Fury. Been 12.12 @110. Don't have all the issues that come with an electric pump( wiring, rerouting fuel line, mounting, etc). I would leave the timing alone for now, and upgrade the pump, and switch to the Holley, but take some...

    NHRA Welding rules??

Scrap is a good way to practice, but I learned a lot by doing. Other than the rollcage, if you make a mistake, that's what a grinder is for, then weld it again.

If it slows down at the top of 3rd gear, it is running out of fuel. Need to upgrade the fuel system.

    ati trans

I've had a lot of problems with ATI. I would not use them. They put the wrong park rod in my trans, and kept telling me how many transmissions they build. then after driving an hour to their shop after having to pull my trans AGAIN, they wanted me to leave it. I told them they can fix it now...

    Test and Tune Nite help

If you do a burnout, start in 2nd gear to keep from over revving the trans sprag and blowing the trans.(probably won't need to with street tires).Watch what others are doing. listen to the track workers at the starting line. They will tell you when to pull up for a burnout, when to stage, etc...
