Summit exhaust systems, are they decent?

YouTube- 1974 Duster with Summit Racing exhaust Audio clip of my Duster with Summit 2.5" exhaust with H-pipe, 5.9 Magnum engine and exhaust manifolds. Taken from about 6-8 feet behind the car, off to one side a bit with a Nikon Coolpix camera.

Summit exhaust systems, are they decent?

Might be in a Dart but in a Duster with fold down rear seat they were way too noisy! I had to install an H-pipe and some extra insulation out back before the car became bearable on long trips.

    Dougs headers, where to buy?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000SSE8HU/?tag=joeychgo-20 $584 shipped. For the price savings I would just go with Summit, less hassle if there was a problem. Good to know though, never thought to check Amazon...

    Dougs headers, where to buy?

I have used both in the the past but have always managed to destroy the header tubes on the drivers bank. This time around I want to go a better route and do headers once.

Take the engine out. Been there and done it, A-body headers are tough.

Anyone running column shift with headers?

Power steering and power brakes too. I'd like to avoid the old school headers that have the drag link run through them, changed enough of those out back in the day. That leaves TTi or Dougs.

Summit kit- $250 Lincoln welder- $350 Hands down one of the best investments you can make is a welder- Learn it and love it! Plus you can make cash on the side fixing stuff for people. The Summit mandrel bent kit is a steal even if you throw the mufflers away (or simply unload them on...

Anyone running column shift with headers?

Considering running headers on my small block '74 Duster, the column shifter has to stay though. Anyone? Doug's Headers would be my first pic, they state in the notes will not work with column shift but that may or may not be the case. LMK, post pics! Gary

Summit exhaust systems, are they decent?

The 2.5" kit fit well on my '74 Duster, I'm actually running manifolds and split off the y-pipe.
