    Antique tires.

That’s awesome. Mine were stored indoors too. That’s the only reason I won’t mind cruising on them a little. No highway but around town won’t bother me.

HELP - Cragar SS Lug Nut Washers Keep Crushing - Need Alternatives!

I have some of those crap washers as well. Many of them are warped. I don't use them. I try to find a more robust washer. The good ones are not only a smidge thicker, but I swear they are better steel too.

    17in Fender Rubbing issues

Strut rod may do it. There may even be a smidge of play in the actual K-member bolt holes allowing forward or rearward movement. Presuming it is barely touching in only certain circumstances.

    tread wear pattern

That's a good idea. I have found different tires don't always like the recommended pressure. Another one for the trick box.

    tread wear pattern

You're correct. A properly used rear tire will be tread-less evenly all the way across! Kidding aside, if one was in and the other out, the diff could be out of align. I highly doubt you've Dukes of Hazarded your car so the diff shouldn't be bent. Perhaps just being old could have an effect on...

Left hand thread lugs - stay or go?

It may not be the right way, but here is what I have found to be the easiest. Zip disc them off as close to the hub as you can. Drill out the center and punch them out. I use about 3 drill sizes. Starting quite small so I get a good center on the stud. You don't want to drill the edge of the...

Thanx barbee. Actually the buyer really wants these. He plans on driving it as is for a while before tearing into it. I love those rims, but they are just wheels I saved from becoming a Prius! They suit that car well. I think they belong on it. Plus what is coming back on the trailer has some...

This one's for you Andy. The rims and the Savoy are leaving my stable and on their way to a new home. I put them on just in time to see it go! Ya gotta wonder what will be on the trailer when it returns.......:D :burnout:

    wheel studs have a look

It's not hard if you have an impact! I just use a couple spacer washers and they go in easily.

    wheel studs have a look

Just take an old one with you and they can use a caliper to check them. P.S. I don't know if you guys have Silver Automotive over there but they were cheaper than NAPA.

    wheel studs have a look

I just converted my 62 Savoy from left to right studs. The ones the book called for were wrong, period, wrong. I took my old stud down and we found a match, and they have knurl all the way across the mounting area as the factory style. Most are knurled like the one you show, but the right ones...

    Saving classic rims.

I posted this on FBBO and thought I should share it here too. I have a few sets of vintage rims that have the chrome peeling off on the aluminum sections. This happens to most aluminum / steel combo rims. The steel rim is almost always still in good shape. So I thought I would show how I saved...
