    park rod woes

    i was reinstalling the extension housing on my 904 today (trying another governor) and somehow i thought that the park rod was in place when i put it together. got it all done and realized the trans was in neutral when i did the work. now it wont shift . i suspect the park rod is jamed in there...

    8 1/4 rebuild

    3:55 gears with a 26" tire and a lock up torqueflight will net you 2800-3000rpm on the highway. 3:21 would be better on gas and still lively enough.

    Advice on rear swap

    phone Dr. diff and see what it would cost to do with rear disk. u might be surprised. run 7 1/4 till it whines.

    Adding a drain plug 727

    bought a pan from a newer torque flight from rock auto. my pan wouldn't stop leaking as the sealing flange on these get flaky after a while. new pan was deeper and had a drain plug. bonus. dosen't leak and easy to drain. was cheep.
