    Mount caster/camber gauge

I had the magnetic gauge and made this adapter so it will work with any sort of wheel, including my Cragar S/S wheels. Works great.

Front end rebuild....buy new or rebuild?

If you want more caster with your K7103 bushings do not follow the instructions in the box. The included instructions are for fixing sagged out camber. Follow Rusty's recommendation above to add caster.

    MOOG Bushings #7103

I bought a set of Moog K7103s to have on my shelf for when I needed them. Received them from RockAuto and, like a dummy, didn't check the boxes. Went to use 'em right after the first of the year and one box had no washers. I had 'em too long for Rock Auto to warranty. Quality control sucks...

    Bilstein rear shock information

Yes, they changed them fairly recently. I got a set a few years ago and they came with correct top bushings. The last set I got came with top bushings that were too small which PST promptly corrected.

Subframe connectors for a driver/cruiser, necessary to weld to floor?

I have installed several sets of frame connectors. I do have experience with floor welded vs end welded too. I installed the USCartools weld to floor connectors in my 64 Barracuda. Shortly after completing that job a friend wanted connectors in his 64 Barracuda. We fabricated those from 2x3...

    Subframe connectors/torque boxes question

I added subframe connectors and noticed a substantial and easily perceived improvement. When I added the torque boxes they also added a very noticeable improvement. If you can only have one go with the frame connectors but I see no reason to not have both and the combined benefits. Torque boxes...

    Subframe connectors needed or not?

Subframe connectors may not be required but they are one of the most noticeable improvements you can make to an A-body. A car just feels so much better with them installed. The doors close more solidly and the car is just more solid and nicer. Do it!

Rear shock upper stud and Bilstein

For the money Bilsteins cost they should provide the correct upper bushings so installation is not a struggle.

Rear shock upper stud and Bilstein

There have been Bilsteins sent out with the wrong top bushing. Top and bottom should have the same size hole for A bodies. You can put the small bushing on A bodies if the bushing is rubber but it is very difficult if the bushing is poly. Call your supplier and explain the issue. They should...

Torsion bars the bigger the better???

Consumers in those days loved the soft floaty ride too. They much preferred the boat like cruise over handling. My Dad had a 62 Chevy that was pretty floaty but when he got a new 65 Chevy it was almost a scary experience to drive and keep it in the correct lane, but everyone thought the ride...

    Advice Needed [ Centerlink & V8 conversion ]

Yes 66 K frames are the same. Quite a few of the 66 cars came with the V-8 center link even when equipped with the slant six so measure yours to make sure it is actually the slant center link.

Alignment shop - chain store or Mom & Pop?

With factory front end parts you will probably wind up getting 1/2 deg negative camber and settling for the maximum caster that is left available.

Alignment shop - chain store or Mom & Pop?

The modern shops near me can't and won't align to anything other than factory specs, or so they say. Yours may be different but there's a really good chance they will be the same way. I'd find an "old white beard" and get him to do it according to the skosch chart so your car will be up to all...

Can custom front end alignments be had?

Another vote for aligning it yourself. It doesn't take much equipment and then if you don't like the result you can change it again yourself. Search on the internet for DIY alignment... there is a lot of info. As previously mentioned, you will probably be limited in the amount of caster you...

    Frame connectors

I'm sorry but I didn't retain any of that information. What I did was went to the local NAPA and asked to look at their brake cable book . I looked up several models that I thought might be close and then went to their shelf and measured to select the best fit. The one I selected may...

    Frame connectors

I used a long cable on the right side and put an equalizer behind the left rear bracket. A tube welded through the subframe connector gets the front cable to the proper location.

    Frame connectors

My 1964 Barracuda has the US Cartools weld in and we put a set made with rectangular tubing (welded in)in a friends car. I doubt anyone could tell the difference without looking underneath the car. The cars were equally improved with the different styles. I would recommend to weld and not bolt...

Lower control arm shaft bushing, 65 Barracuda

The tap is my usual method but sometimes they don't press easily and rather than break a tap I cut a groove on those with my sawzall and chisel 'em out.

    Monroe Matic Plus Shocks

I've got them on my 64 Valiant. I'd say they are slightly better than what the car was equipped with from the factory. They control my suspension adequately for an around town, slant six cruiser. They are certainly better that the worn out shocks that were on it! If a stock replacement is...

    '66 dart center link question

There are definitely different center links. The center link for v8 has more drop to clear the oil pan. (A good share of the slant 6 66 cars got the V8 link though.) Raising the engine a tiny bit should not cause vibration but if you were on the verge of driveshaft misalignment anyway it could...
