    Mid plate mounting

Flywheel bolts are longer. Spacer requires longer bolts.

    Trans bolts access panel.

I got a couple of clutchflites for my dart. Lakewood scattershields. With all the bolts of course. And behind that, the bulk of a 727 gearbox. And they dont separate because they bolt together from inside the scattershield. Installing the trans, lining up the input shaft and clearing the pump...

does anyone use 100LL av gas ?

Wow, this hurt. $3.30 a gallon in so cal. I try not to look at prices. What can I do? If gas sales dropped I dont think prices would drop. Might even go up. Cause the governments, state and fed, need the money. Must meet their projections for income from gas sales. Cause they have spent that...

Will this kill my 904 ?

I ran a clutchflite in my 32 bantam altered nostalgia car. Injected hemi on alky, 100" wheelbase. Thats 254 centimeters to everybody else. 30 lb. flywheel added to the fun. Still have 2 of them transmissions sitting in a corner.

Will this kill my 904 ?

How much weight you got on the front axle, if any?

    Losing weight

How well does a lexan windshield hold up visibility wise? Can you use products like rain x on it? Glare? Bow, bend or pop out at speed? Brand preference? Thanks!
  15. hangn0ut

    Losing weight

Keep the door panels. The inner door structure has plenty of exposed edges and in a wreck....you don't want that next to you.

    13.20 mph

Like any brand you need to know how healthy the motor is. How well it's sealed, all cylinders equal, yada yada. Same with the rest of the car.

    What camber caster gauge?

Car pulls to the left,Jack the right torsion bar up a turn or two. Or lower the left t bar a turn or two. This of course after an alignment.

    Drove the race car home!

Congrats on that landmark event in the life of a project car, that first drive! Car looks to be coming along real nicely and I take it was no surprises on the drive home. How far is that drive? Some guys tell everybody a week in advance that the car is going for a drive. And they have someone...

    Driveshaft hoop pics?

That's gotta be about a foot at least that the hoop is hanging back off it's mount. A driveshaft bouncing around in that at about 5000 rpm....hmmm. I don't know if its gonna stay put.

    Driveshaft hoop pics?

    Yeah,that kind.

    Driveshaft hoop pics?

I think the nhra rule book says the hoop is to be attached to the frame. Yours would be the only non tube chassis car I have seen that is done accordingly. Have you seen those hoops that bolt to the trans cross member? Wonder how they would do with a thrashing driveshaft?
  23. hangn0ut

    Driveshaft hoop pics?

Seems a carbon fiber driveshaft is what you need. When they break they don't thrash your tunnel. Or bust up your trans. Or pole vault your car.(main reason for the hoop.) They simply disintegrate into splinters. Plus you save weight. Rotating weight. And save weight cause you wouldn't need a...

    Mid plate mounting

Flex plate spacer I use is made to accept the pilot, same as the crank. Never bent anything or had any other problems.

    Water temp sensor

Drill and tap the spacers in front of the motor plate. Not enough room there, thicker spacers.
  26. hangn0ut

    Mid plate mounting

Typically a mid plate is used with a front plate. Helps tie the chassis together. That's a lotta space between a front plate and the trans mount. No need for special converter with some mid plate kits.

    Doctor Diff spools

Heavy flywheel really beats up on everything behind it.
  28. hangn0ut

    Mid plate mounting

Don't forget the extra long pilot studs for the block to trans alignment.

    Mid plate mounting

I like the type that uses a spacer between the crank and flex plate also. No problem swapping converters that way.

How to prepare for engine dyno?

Dyno a motor. Getting ready. I would say get over there and look at the set up. See what it takes to mount the motor onto his cart. His set up might bolt directly to your block. Or you may need to bring motor mounts. Will your motor plates work? It all depends. Does he have a plate that bolts to...
