It's still fairly close, Jpar. I did advance the timing a litttle when driving it the other day and I could get it to ping. A much lighter ping, granted but it's close. It likes it at 16 initial. Runs hard. Should have mentioned that earlier.

Now that I've got the point of detonation figured out, it seems like the .557 cam would better utilize all that cylinder pressure, don't you think, Rusty? It's not too much smaller than the solid cam that was recommended by Tim at Bullet.

Something about an all steel car with full interior, full exhaust, street tires, all motor, DRIVEN to the track running mid elevens that gets me goin.....:lol::thumbsup:

And thanks Rusty, I did read that the cheap box would retard the timing at high rpm but the disparity between the two was pretty severe. I couldn't get the revnator to not ping at high rpm with experimenting with the timing all over the place. AND, I haven't drank in 6.5 years and have to...

And, I am happy to report that I have finally gotten rid of the ping!! Not sure which it is yet, but it's either a distributor or a revnator ignition box. Or combo of both? Havent had time to experiment but I changed the box for a ten dollar auto zone ecu and put my old firecore distributor...

Anytime it's at high rpm. Tim at Bullet explained this as the lack of duration with my high compression.
