That car just needs new stock rear springs. Leave the front as is and it will look, ride and handle as it should.

    Tire age

Nope..no first hand knowledge. My guy has hundreds of used and new tires and new old stock. Didn't push me in any direction just gave me info and options. But like in my previous post, my newer snow tires are not worn at all and have become hard and noisy in 5 short years.

72blu is correct. Just picked up a couple of like new used Michelins for my daughters Toyota and was told anything after 2020 they call "rubber butter" It's getting worse, now they are softer and age faster so watch it and watch out!

    Tire age

yup...kinda' like breaking a leaf spring. A lifelong trucker told me you are more likely to break it with no load on a rough road as it bends quickly back and forth too far. The snow tires on my truck have almost no wear or cracks but they are 5 years old and now they have become noisy as the...

    Wheel and Tire Help

Stock was a bit small, so go at least a bit bigger for better ride and handling. Looks are a personal thing and the wheel tire section has most every possibility but too far out of wack can ruin braking and handling. I would go 21570R14 all the way around but i like them to look 'kinda stock.

Honest feedback on wheel/tire combo please

Looks Good but i am old school and prefer them to look the way they were when new. You're right about the age thing. They say if you are 50 or younger and "don't" have headers you're embarrassed to open your hood. ..and if you are over 60 and "have" headers you are embarrassed to open your hood...

70 dart 14" rallye rim widening

the centres on 14 or 15" are the same.Usually they just take the centre out of the narrow rim and weld it into a wider 14" or 15" rim with the backspace you request. That works on plain steel wheels too and lets you keep small bolt pattern.

    Red Line Hub Caps

in '68 i was 16 and spent every weekend at our local strip. The new 340 cars were quite often the cars to beat and got a lot of respect! Was 1971 when i got my first muscle car...1971 340 'Cuda. I could never beat the lighter darts or dusters on the street! I never raced at the strip back then.

    Tires...Tires...Tires?

i have heard after about 7 years tires can grenade but have never ever seen it happen to anyone, i do think the ride can deteriorate some as the rubber can harden and crack with age if left in the elements or sun.

    Tires...Tires...Tires?

Have any of you guys tried a more expensive Michelin or other tire on your classic? I know on my daily drivers they make a world of difference. I wonder if they would help the 50 year old suspension technology of our Classics?
