    Wooden Rotisserie Question

Awesome ideas. I love to build things out of wood. But I never thought about a rotisserie. I seen them made out of pipe also where you roll it up on it's side.

    Need 4-post lift capacity recommendation

I have a 9000 lb capacity 4 post lift also. Make sure you get one that is wide enough to hold your dually. Look at the distance between the posts. I have to fold my mirrors in to get on it. Plus it's best for me to have someone to help line you up on the lift as my pickup wheels are right on the...

4 post lift vs. 2 post lift. Pros and Cons.

TrailBeast is right about a 2 post having more room underneath. But it depends on what you want to use it for. I have a 4 post because I use it to store 2 cars in 1 spot or just to have room to get the project car up out of the way. Since I'm almost done with my 68 GTS total restoration it will...

Anyone own Eastwood welder-spool gun combo?

I haven't purchased the eastwood welder yet but I do own one of their plasma cutters and has done me well. I think this is my 4th or 5th year using it. The eastwood welder with the spool gun has been something I have been toying with purchasing.

auto dark welding helmets what U use

I have two. One at work and it is from Grainger. It is very nice and several adjustments. At home I have one from Harbor Frieght and it works very good also. The knob you turn to adjust the shade also turns the helmet off.

    My New Lift

The brand name is advantage lifts. No it doesn't have to be bolted down. It comes with a set of wheels that attach to each post. When you have them installed and let the lift down all the way it actually picks the lift up enough to roll it around. My son and I put it together in about 6 hours...

    My New Lift

Went out and bought me a 4 post lift for my shop. I still need to move it to the back of the shop. I'm going to wait until I have the quarter welded back on my dart before I move it. Also there is a picture of my new air compressor.

Air Leak in Air Compressor Tank

I plan on keeping the motor, pump and the plate it all sits on. It is one of those large Ingersoll units. Maybe one day I'll find a nice tank to mount it on.

I have a small air leak located about 3 inches up from the bottom of my tank on one end. It is a horizontal model. Is there any fix for it? Or should I just replace it? Thanks Jeff

    How to cut aluminum plate?

Mostly I use a 4 1/2" grinder with cutoff blade and I have the luxury of a plasma cutter in my shop. In the past I have used a circular saw with a metal blade available from most hardware stores.

    Hydraulic Press safety questions

As has been said before. Operate it as safe as you can and put some sort of guard or barrier between the work and you. After working in industry for over 30 years you can't go wrong with adding guards.

What do you guys like for a tranny jack?

I used both of the cheaper versions that HF sells. I went the with the cheapest one and have used it numerous times. I even use it when changing out the center sections on my rear ends. Back in the day I used to lay that cast iron 4 speed on my chest and bench press it up in my dart but not anymore.

    timing light..what are you running

I have a nice craftsman dial back that I have used for years. Then I dropped it right on the dial back knob. That part doesn't work as well. Recently I bought one of those self powered units because they claim they work better with MSD's.

    Any Electricians? Advice on wire.

I would run 10-3 with ground under the house. Then get the same gauge only in an underground wire for the garage. I remember now you want to use conduit also. The same as under the house will work. I would rather have to much wire than not enough. When I did mine I threw in an extra wire just in...

Welder too cheap to be true?

I bought my Lincoln welder from Home Depot. Go with gas and if you can buy the model that includes the spool gun like Fishy did. They cost $200 extra if you buy it separate. Don't be afraid of the Eastwood welders. They have a 3 year warranty. I purchased a plasma cutter from them and it works...
