i downloaded the Federal Registry you cited which is from 1971 and is 152 pages!! i read the section on headrests - also called "head restraints." it is very interesting stuff from a "lawyer" perspective. thanks again for this information.

LOL! thank you for posting those Regulations!! i've been retired from my law practice for a number years but i always enjoy reading regulations written so no one can understand... thanks... :0)

    M code barracuda

i always wanted a M-Code Cuda and finally found one several years ago. it was a cut up 426 Hemi drag car in Boston ten years ago then it went to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to a mopar racing guy who put a 440 in it. i was able to buy it from him as a roller with no racing parts. i then had the...

sadly, the autonews website won't let you read this article unless you buy a subscription. that publication has a lot of good car news but i already have too many "on-line" subscriptions. maybe you could summarize what the article says?

davescuda.... i'm wondering if i could add my M-Code fastback to the Registry? please tell me how to do that and what documentation you need. i can send you pics of the dash VIN tag and the body numbers on the radiator support and rear trunk lip. Thanks... Jim Coster, Pittsburgh, PA

    M code barracuda

I'm pretty sure Federal Regs for mandated headrests were not mandatory until the 1970 car model year. that is why for mopar, the "high-back" bucket seats were in everything. the higher back fulfilled the "headrest" safety regulation.

Please share comments about Mopar restoration shops

i have two cars that i would like to "farm out." one is my "prize" - a 69 fastback M-Code 440 Cuda and the other one is a "numbers matching" fastback 69 Formula S 383 4 speed. i'm not in to "trailer queens" but prefer nice "driver condition" cars. both cars have great bodies but need to be...

LOL! it's ironic you should mention Arlington Auto Body. i've been at that shop several times and the last time i was offered a job as a bodyman to start "immediately." i laughed and thanked them for the offer but said i have a bunch of my own cars that i can't get done... LOL! and as to...

hi dadsbee.... i can really relate to your story. i have 7 68-69 Barracudas and i started on one 68 when i returned from Iraq in 2006. it was my "therapy" due to PTSD. i invested around 2600 hours in that car and did it all myself. now i'm a bit older and don't have as much energy as i had...

i don't want a "trailer queen" restoration because those jobs are VERY expensive and then you're afraid to drive it afterward. i would like to find a shop that does "nice driver quality" work.

hi Steve, thanks for the information about Khors Kustoms. i did not know about that shop. i will contact them to feel them out. shipping cars has become very expensive now so i'm trying to find a shop not "too far" from Pittsburgh, Pa.

I have been watching Graveyard Carz since the first show. And a long-time member here at FABO - Cuda Dad - has had Mark Worman restoring his 69 A-57 Cuda for the last NINE YEARS. It appears that GYC's now has the car finished. Nine years is a LONG time to wait for a car to be restored. There...

Bad omen for the value of 69 M-Code Cudas

no, sadly, the M-Code car has not been getting much love lately. i've gotten side-tracked on the remolding of two houses i bought and the cars are just sitting around. ironically, i bought a new Challenger Hellcat 6 speed and have been driving that to the local car shows because my real...

Bad omen for the value of 69 M-Code Cudas

well, i guess EVERYTHING i thought i knew about the value of mopar muscle cars is probably now out of date and inaccurate. my thoughts on the value of 69 M-Code Cuda's being "around" $75-80k???? LOL! a beautiful, "almost" perfect red 69 M-Code Cuda fastback just sold at the Indy Mecum...

    1968 150 MPH discussion

i would certainly be interested in "learning" how many M-Code Cudas were "actually built" in late November and early December of 1968. as i'm sure you will agree, the M-Code Cudas were "1969 model year" cars only. as to the 1968 150 speedometer - do you know if any of the November/December...

    1968 150 MPH discussion

i agree. 1969 "model year" was the only time the M-Code 440 Cudas were built and these cars were actually "built" in the calendar year 1969 (after January 1, 1969) as they were "second half production" models like the A12 "69 1/2" Roadrunner and six pack Superbee. the A56 (340) and A57 (383)...

What oil/oil filter are you guys running in your stock 340's?

thank you for posting this video of a guy actually cutting various oil filters apart so everyone could see the differences. these are always THE BEST kind of comparison videos because there is no debate about someone's "opinion" - everyone can see the difference for themselves and just make up...

What oil/oil filter are you guys running in your stock 340's?

LOL! yes, the way i drive this car, i'm surprised my battery hasn't been thrown out through the grill already! all the original gages work in the car and the oil pressure is always mid-gage or higher. i checked the dipstick last night and the oil is pretty dirty. the lifters may just be...

What oil/oil filter are you guys running in your stock 340's?

I took my 68 Barracuda 340 4 sp to a car show Sunday and noticed lifter tapping for about 15 minutes before some driving and engine heat-up quieted down the motor. This was the first time I had the car out since winter so it had sat for 7 months without being started. My 340 is stock and I...

Mopar car for sale ads on FABO

i will not criticize anyone for whatever they want to do regarding talking about a sales price or a purchase price for their car. i will only say that i have no problem telling people what i have paid for my cars as i intend on keeping them. when i have offered "my opinion" of the value of a...
