    here's what i see . idle a tad fat . cruse maybe a little lean hard to tell for sure with that pic . timing 2 or 3 degrees advanced wide open throttle can't see the fuel ring with that picture . JMO For What it's worth

    I Have been using them for a couple years with good success , they adjustment is a little screw on the back super easy i set my cars to 14v its easy on the wiring and enough to keep a full charge

    The only ones i find any good now days and all i use now are the Transpo HD Adjustable VR , i get them on Ebay for 22 bucks CND it says they are made in the US but for that price that is questionable .

    ok grounded the field and its charging so it must be the regulator . with the key on what voltage should there be at voltage regulator plug both terminals ???

    i was thinking something like that . i worked normal last fall when i put it away but yesterday when i took her out it wasn't charging .

    i was gonna do that but with 11.87 volts on both field wires with the key on and engine not running made me think it may not be a good idea

    doing some tests and with the key on i have 11.87 volts at both field wires the output should be considerably lower on one or am i wrong .

    Gauging interest in making new alternator voltage regulators

    my only input would be to make the regulators adjustable . i have been using the transpo adjustable regulators and had great luck and adjustability is a great option .

    is there a way i can test the white trigger wire on the 6al ? maybe with a test light will the light go on and off if it's triggering ? my distributor is a msd mag pickup

    its simple to wire in . when i un hook the s and s and go back to the 6al it fires up

    ok i done a few tests and i have no spark coming from the coil . Iwas thinking maybe a shielding problem , would that cause a no spark condition ? i was thinking it would cause maybe an erratic spark . i can't find anything on troubleshooting this piece .

    I have a 73 Duster 340 clone made from a slant 6 and the firewall forward harness is in bad shape i got a mint harness from a 73 340 Duster does anyone know if it is a plug and play or are they different ? the car is an a/c model and so is the new harness , I can't seem to find a diagram ...

    well if anyone is interested the truck was charging at 17.3 volts , way to high so i cleaned up all the connections and the grounds real good and added an extra to the body and i got it down to 14.8 the best i could get , still to high so i tryed a transpo adjustable voltage regulator and it was...

    yes it has the external electronic regulator . it has two fields one goes to the top post of the reg and the other field goes to the ing terminal along with keyed power .

    i was working on a slight over charging problem on a 1990 w250 cummins and i accidently grounded the two field wires together when i was running a jumper wire from the hot field to the battery , the allagator clip grounded the fields together now it's not charging . did the alternator burn out...

    in my experience with plugs i could never get a proper reading using a fuel additive , it near always turns your plug ornge or tanish color .
