    '05 Hemi ?'s

My motor is an 05 car engine, (I’ve swapped to the later coils/valve covers for looks) Mine has had cam and long tubes with 6.1 valvesprings and pushrods since I first fired it up 4 years ago. It now has Eagle heads and 6.1 intake... Even with the cam/longtubes it still ran out of power about...

    GEN 3 Qtr stats list

I made some changes this year and picked up a bit. Thought I’d update. 67 dart, early 5.7 with 5.7 eagle heads and 6.1 intake. FAST EFI, comp 268 cam, 200r4 trans with 3400 stall, 4.10 gears. Raced at Bandimere in Denver. 12.58 @ 106. That’s 4/10’s and 3 mph from a eagle head and intake...

Eagle Head swap on 06 5.7 Block Questions

I am just finishing a eagle head swap on mine and should fire it up this week. They took off 0.005 to clean up the heads and I am using 0.075 head gaskets, and have a comp 268 cam. So my math for pushrod length may be different than yours... I measured to the best of my ability with mult...

What manifolds work with a 5.7 in an A body

A member named Gdemon used some sort of factory manifolds, I think Jeep, the drivers cleared but the pass side he had to notch the frame around the manifold if I remember... try a search with his name, I think he posted pics way back when... In my opinion though the proven Dyno gains with...

66 Dodge Dart GT- Deep Sixing Slant 6 and Automatic for late model 5.7 or 5.9

The 5.7 and 5.9 are totally different platforms. The 5.9 is a magnum LA engine. Basically the same as a traditional small block. Somewhat better heads, roller cam, and different intake bolt pattern. It Will bolt up to small block trans/headers and accessory stuff like that. The 5.7/6.1 and...

    Any 2012 Hemi Upgrade Advice

2012 5.7 is a great platform. The heads flow REALLY well stock, they can be ported for gains, but it’s not cheap... Long tube headers and a cam will give you a really good bump. The cam swap requires VVT lockout I believe. I’d look at comp cams, inertia motorsports or modern muscle xtreme...

    5.7 Hemi Intake Dimensions Question

What motor are you talking? There are different port size/shape based on engine and year. I have a early 5.7 and 6.1 factory intakes I could get you some measurements of port spacing and stuff with pics if that would help...

5.7 Hemi interference with steering column

Here’s a pic in the car, it’s trimmed truly as close as can be. As you can see although there is about 1/8th” gap between the column and plastic valve cover it still clearly rubs at some point driving... My guess is it rubs on hard decel at the track.

5.7 Hemi interference with steering column

Where exactly does it hit? I know I may be talking apples to oranges here, however, with the TTI mounts in my 67 dart I had to trim off the entire collar and sleeve all the way up to the firewall to make it fit (Floor shift). I can’t find any pics that show it in the car on my phone, but I...

    1966 Dart 5.7 Hemi swap

There is no specific thread about gen III hemi in that yr dart I believe. But really it’s mostly hemi in A-body questions that comes up. There is TONS of “what do I need” and “what do I do about” threads.... literally dozens and dozens. Tin cup had a very well documented thread about an...

Went on the Dyno today, basic 5.7L

Goody, Cometic makes headgaskets in multiple thicknesses, I have the math someplace but I think with a .074 thickness it should be 10.8:1. Summit has the gaskets. With the eagle heads you can run either the 6.1 or eagle intake, but the eagle intake will hit the coolant sensor in the block...

Went on the Dyno today, basic 5.7L

Goody, Those numbers are REALLY close to mine with the same basic set up. I think these some of these guys are forgetting chassis to crank numbers... in comparison to factory output, you’re putting to the wheels what it had at the crank. Mine is early 5.7, fast XFI controlled, comp 268 cam...

04 5.7 Truck motor what heads to get to upgrade?

What do you use for engine control, I’d say $500 may be on the high side for a tune, but isn’t unreasonable in my opinion. If you’re using Diablo I’m sure there are email tuners that could get you close, up and running, then datalog for cheaper.

04 5.7 Truck motor what heads to get to upgrade?

If you’re already 6.1 headers and 6.1 intake in my opinion 6.1 heads is a no brainer. With the 6.1 intake you can ditch the spacers, with the eagle heads you still need them. The ports of your heads can be opened up to match the 6.1 stuff, and would flow similar if ported by one of the big...

04 5.7 Truck motor what heads to get to upgrade?

In my opinion, heads are a good upgrade, but without a cam and other mods you really won’t see much gain from them. The stock heads flow really well from the factory, so if I was gonna spend the money on heads I’d do cam/heads at a minimum. There are several big vendors that do ported heads...

    Activating MDS

I guess my main thought on this would be that really you lose the benefit of MDS if you’re planning to run a carb set up no matter what. Like stated, if the carb is jetted for a 5.7, you really won’t have precise fuel control at all as a 4cyl. the extra $ you’d spend on MDS activation plus...

5.7 Hemi, Cable Driven Throttle, kickdown linkage for 3 speed auto

I will also say, that much like you I was nervous about the dbw factory TB when I initially started my swap. Here is another pic of mine how it sits now with the 200r4 TV cable geometry. It's the best pic I have of the bracket I made, the bracket is the same as when I had the 727, just the attachment point on the TB changed to meet the Criteria of GM's TV cable.
