    Screwdrivers

This is my favourite Wiha driver.......

    Screwdrivers

Totally agree here - German made Wiha screwdrivers are the best I have ever used in 40+ years of being an Electrician. Use the right driver for the task at hand and they last a lifetime. Remember that screwdrivers are for doing up and undoing screws...they are not levers, pry-bars or chisels...

What Die Grinder bit to use? Need to enlarge antenna hole in fender

If you decide to use a Unibit to enlarge the hole, don't forget to ream the underneath.....even a Unibit will leave a jagged edge.

    VFD

When a motor is running well below rated speed, and accessory fan on the back is the best option. I have done that a few times.

    VFD

I typically use Danfoss and Allen-Bradley........my clients expect to pay big money.....and they are never disappointed.

    VFD

I don't know about USA....but 3-phase motors are cheaper and more efficient than single phase equivalents. Besides, a traditional single phase motor requires a 'start switch' or second winding to initiate rotation and get up to run speed.

    VFD

That is really cheap....as in a great price.

    VFD

You can't go wrong with a VFD spec'd over what the size of the motor is. I assume this is a 3-phase motor....you just need to set all your parameters according to the motor requirements.

Getting ready to build a shop- first time in many decades I have done so- perusing this forum for ideas.

Over here if that happened, you would be told no insurance if you build on that same land - mostly used for earthquake and flood prone areas. Good luck with your build. Best advice I can give is make sure you have adequate ventilation - or good air flow. Humidity will hurt your tools...

How many of you do woodworking / DYI stuff?

As an Electrician, I am a novice at woodworking, but with general DIY on my own home, and the need to dabble with wooden fixtures occasionally on my jobs.....I could benefit from proper methods and decent videos, if contributors to the site were honest. I am tired of watching HGTV and the fact...

Made a DIY Hot Tank and failed miserably

Sounds like you had a "Coca-Cola & Mentos" moment....and nothing was caught on video. I bet that made any local bears **** in the woods.

    Any electricians in the house?

I spent two and a bit years working for Marks & Spencer in their London (outskirts) Computer Centre back in the mid 1990's. We had 2 x big UPS rotating machines that ran directly from the mains supply into the premises. These machines generated 500 Volts DC and continually charged a bank of 2...

    Any electricians in the house?

Playing with mains power and not being an electrician, is not the same as changing spark plugs without a mechanic. My advice is to get an electrician to take a look at your system......before we lose another member here.

    Anyone lay their own concrete?

Don't be tempted to try and manage the entire job yourself. The guys who have quoted become responsible for the job for starters....and when things go pear shaped, you're not the guy getting it in the ear from all directions. Different country and a different currency...but I paid close to...
