    bad day on the madien voyage

    Head lifting is a common problem if either the block and/or the heads have been cut/milled. I took .130" off total between my head and block on my slant six. Had to washer the heads bolts because the compression was lifting the head (10.5:1). Make sure, if this IS the case, use ONLY Grade 8...

    225 slant six vs 318?

    I'd say stick with the slant six. A decent trans rebuild with a shift kit shouldn't run you more then a $1K, depending on your area. I've got $3K into my slant and she should run a low 14, high 13. If you'd like some ideas for building your slant, shoot me a PM. Mike

    Time for new engine

    Yikes... thanks for the heads up! I was thinking of taking my '74 440 .060" over... maybe I'll just stick to .040" over and keep it safe. It's getting a stroker kit anyways, so MORE power!! Off topic and out of curiousity - how much does your Duster weigh? I'm looking to put my '67 Fastback...
