    ID mystery spacer ???

Like I said, that same spacer came in my new Holley 4175 box, List number 7004 back in 1988.

    ID mystery spacer ???

I have one of those. It came with the 4175 Holley 600 cfm spreadbore that I bought back in 88. The secondary bores are not large enough for the TQ and I think not on the QJet either. You'll have to enlarge the holes somehow.

Found this in my shed yesterday....

Does this carb have the foil tag that says Competition Series on the front? The first series of aftermarket AFB's were 9000 Series-that is what you have, I'm pretty sure. The Competition Series came just a little after that. I have a couple Carter Performance Products books from 10-1975. The...

Engines with lack bottom end power?

What's torque? I have none-My all original 67 Dart 270, 273 2 bbl, came with 2.93 rear gears and D78-14 tires. In the slow quest to change to the big bolt pattern, I got the 7 1/4 rear swapped for a 8 1/4 with 2.71 gears and put 225-70-15 tires. Talk about a dog, I don't think I've ever been...

    Hamburger/Batchelder time machine

I just Googled Ed Hamburger. After the oil pan business, he started SLP (Street Legal Performance) which later became Specialty Vehicle Engineering. Pretty much all GM products.

    Hamburger/Batchelder time machine

I think I remember a few years ago, he was making oil pans and stuff for Chevys. Haven't seen any advertisements from him for quite awhile.

Modifications to Offenhauser 1 1/2 carb spacer Thermoquad to Holley pattern ?

Both the spacer and the adapter you have shown are for a Quadrajet. Hold either up to the base of your TQ and you will see that you will most likely have a vacuum leak in the back, as they do not have enough surface to seal.

headers for big block A body

I've seen my share of original big block Cudas and Darts that have been butchered, looks like most used a hatchet or a torch. I don't think people had Sawzalls or plasma cutters back then. With TTI's nice headers there is no reason to use fenderwell headers, in my opinion.

headers for big block A body

I can't see where any fenderwell headers are the best. Thy are all pieces of crap!

    4.88 in a street/strip car?

You don't use 4.88 and freeway in the same sentence in my book. Unless you want a ticket for driving to SLOW! You'll be the laughing stock on the freeway for sure. Here in Nebraska most drive 80-85, you get run over if you drive any less than 70.

New W2 heads/ March 1979 Popular Hot Rodding

They are the 810 castings with the milled off rocker stands. I always assumed long valve. I have most of the old Direct connection books when they were first available. If I remember right they came 3 different ways.

New W2 heads/ March 1979 Popular Hot Rodding

The local Chrysler here in Lincoln got 3 sets of them in whenever they came out. Two of my friends each bought a set. The one friend's foster kids stole his and must have sold thinking they were Chevy heads. The other friend moved to Louisiana and I lost track of him. Many years later I got...
