That's how my Valiant sounds. But my car has no sound deadening, so you mostly hear road noise and valve train noise when cruising. Get on it, and it has that same glass pack sound you described.

My Valiant has Magnaflows on it. They are pretty quiet at idle and cruise, but get pretty loud when you open the throttle. Best of both worlds.

I agree. This sounds better than the first one. The first one, the idle is too low. This one is just right.

That would be cool. 40 series Flowmasters are way too freakin loud. 50 series are OK. Too bad they don't make the 30 series in 2.5". They are the quietest while still sounding good.

Who knows? I can't believe people are still prepaying. It's like prepaying a contractor to remodel your house. I bought mine COD and they were in my hand EXACTLY 2 weeks to the day after I ordered them. Too bad I haven't gotten around to putting them on the car yet...

Who says they flow like crap? I have Flowmasters on both my Barracuda and my 96 Z28. They both run well. My z28 had an edelbrock glass-pack style exhaust system prior to the flowmaster. It ran like crap and had a horrible drone on the freeway. Installing the flowmaster exhaust quieted it down...

Just FYI - there is a company called Remflex that makes graphite gaskets that are 1/8" thick before you install them. They crush about 50% when you tighten them. They might be helpful. I've got a set for another car that has slightly warped flanges on the headers. I haven't tried the gaskets...
