Anti-siphon in 68 Valiant filler neck?

Thanks, guys. I took a look in the filler tube with a flashlight. There is an anti-siphon device in there.

Anti-siphon in 68 Valiant filler neck?

I'm trying to siphon some gas out of my 68 Valiant to put in my truck because the fuel is a couple of months old and I want to put fresh fuel in the Valiant before I start driving it again. I have a siphoning pump that I have used successfully to empty the tank in the 66 Barracuda I used to own...

5/16" Fuel Pump Inlet for 340?

    True. Edelbrock carbs do suck.

5/16" Fuel Pump Inlet for 340?

Article on the buildup of the engine in my Valiant: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/mopp-1106-1968-plymouth-valiant-427-engine-swap/ I can't take credit for it. I didn't build it, but none of that matters when I hit the loud pedal.

5/16" Fuel Pump Inlet for 340?

It's plenty of carb. You would be surprised how much power you can make with a 650.

    Holley carbs. Love'em or hate'em?

Not in my experience. Out of the box, Edelbrocks have a flat spot. After tuning them, they have a flat spot. Paperweights in my opinion.

    Holley carbs. Love'em or hate'em?

Holley fan here. Why did the float stick? Dirt in the carb? With Holleys if you run two fuel filters, you eliminate most of the problems guys have with them.

Fuel Vaporization Using Eddy Carb -- In-Line Fuel Pump Question

Try this. Next time you drive it and get it hot, shut it off, take off the air cleaner and watch what happens in the carb. See if fuel is dribbling out inside the throat of the carb, getting the throttle plates wet. If so, the fuel is getting hot, expanding and basically siphoning the float...

Fuel Vaporization Using Eddy Carb -- In-Line Fuel Pump Question

Here is a two step fix for this and any other Edelbrock carb problem - Step One - unbolt Edelbrock carb Step Two - bolt on Holley carb Problem solved. I fought and fought and fought with my Edelbrock carb 20+ years ago. I was determined to run it because I had problems with my first...

Is my 340 Overcarbed? Avg 5-6 MPG

One thing nobody has mentioned - get that carb leaned out ASAP or you'll wash down the cylinders. Check your oil for gas smell.

Big cam idle adjustment, Holly 4150

Another thing that helps with big cams is to drill a very small hole in both primary throttle blades. This allows more air in so you can close the throttle blades and get better idle mixture adjustment. If the throttle blades are open too much it exposes the transfer slot rendering your idle...

Eddy 1406 pissing me off (LOL)

I had an Edelbrock 1406 on my car for a while. Never ran right. Put a Holley on and never looked back. If you are determined to keep the Edelbrock carb, block off your heat crossover. You don't need it in CA. Any carb hates heat, but these Edelbrocks really hate heat. Boils the fuel off in no time.

    fast or atomic efi ?

Good to hear you're happy with the the FAST system. I'm considering the FAST system also. I've read a lot of people's posts about their installs, but nobody ever posts detailed pictures of their fuel hose routing, fuel pump mounting or how they did the return line into the tank. Any chance...

    Chrome fuel pump clearance issues.

I had the same problem with my 340. I used an angle grinder and ground it to within about 1/16" of flush with the block with no problems.

    Help! Edelbrock problems...

Not sure what you mean. Is the engine running on (dieseling) after the key is turned off or is fuel just running out of the boosters after it's shut off (no dieseling)? If it's the former, you need more advance so you can close the throttle blades down and still have the idle RPM where you...

    750 cfm for 340?

No problem. That has a tendency to happen online. It's much easier to get your point across in person. :) You'll like the Street Avenger. It woke up my friends' 340.

    750 cfm for 340?

I understand that cfm is airflow and jetting has to do with fuel flow. To say that the two are not related is ridiculous. Jetting has to do with the vacuum signal in the venturi. The vacuum signal in the venturi has to do with the volumetric efficiency of the motor, which is a combination of...

    750 cfm for 340?

It's still too much cfm for a midly modified 340. Sure, you can jet it down. You would have to. But the problem is that you have a weaker vacuum signal in the venturi, which leads to sluggish throttle response. The accelerator pump is going to cover up some of that sluggishness, but it will be...

    750 cfm for 340?

Get a Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm. From the description of your engine mods, a 750 double pumper will be overkill.
