    Oh yeah....we blocked up the front wheels about 8 inches and jack stands at the rear for easier crossmember and driveshaft connection. When i'm on a creeper I need a bit O clearance (260lbs) :shock:

    We pulled my 340 and 833 out together and left the dist. on but took off the cap, this on a 69 Swinger. Hood off. No leveler. I dunno about putting it back in...its tight.

    Another distinct possibility is your oil pan end gasket. Like you say it's only leaking slightly so maybe leave it alone. I believe there is a different main cap made specifickly(sp) for an A body to correct this problem.

    Take off the oil pan, probably have to drop the center link too. Undo the rear main cap bolts, and you will find the rear main seal. These things are notorious for leaking. If its not leaking much maybe leave it alone or if feeling adventurous change it. If you change it youself you should...

    Rod bearings

    Was going to put new rod bearings in today but to my dismay the new ones dont have a notch or dowel hole on the ends. The old ones do. If I put the new ones in they will block off the oiling notch on the cap end. We checked the part# and it is correct....Clevites....Anyone?...thanks

    On the cap side of the main bearings does it matter if the tangs are mated with the block bearings? I cant remember how they came off and my book doesnt say anything. I have installed them mated and the bearing # on the block side and the cap # are installed on the same side which mates up the...
