    rear end swap

Im trying to swap an 8 3/4 rear for the 7 1/4 and need shock mount plates on my 70 dart resurrection effort. I don't feel like paying $150 for $10 worth of steel, does anyone here have specs or dimensioned drawings of what these are so a guy can fabricate a pair? Your assistance is greatly...

Installing a spool or suregrip in an 8 3/4?

If you can get a different third member its a piece of cake. Swapping the open carrier for a posi takes a few more tools and skills but is also doable. Lots of good information here if you use the search engine provided. Good luck!

    Sure-grip unit WiW....

Is it a cone of a clutch type? I am looking for a clutch type to swap into my 8 3/4, please let me know if you are wanting to sell, maybe I can make it easy. Clutch types are rebuildable and I would assume that is required.

    8 3/4 question

Thanks, I will look into placing a sure grip into this unit, if you have guidance I will take it. I did connect with Moser and they will cut and respline the axles for $125 which seems real reasonable.

    8 3/4 question

Thanks for the very helpful input, I am planning on putting a big block (413) in my 70 swinger project and trying hard to keep it low buck as a father son effort. Started off with $200 dollar car and a free 65 300 rust bucket donor. Trying to use as much of the pieces as I can and think we...

    8 3/4 question

well guys I have been trying to learn about rear ends here, specifically 8 3/4 units. I was told this car i got for parts had a dana posi with 4:10 gears. I learned pretty early that it was not a dana and was an 8 3/4. I thought that's OK, 4:10 8 3/4 unit would work just fine! Well I have...

    8 3/4 question

OK - it seems like it is sure grip but I still have the drums on it and they are hangin up , so will have to remove to find the ratio. But they both want to turn the same direction so if I understand you correctly, that means sure grip so thank you very mush :-) Now, can anyone tell me if this...

    Z-Bar bearing

Anyone out there know where the bearing/bushing for the "torque shaft assembly" or Z-bar might be purchased? I have my 340 ready to install, but these bushing/bearings should be replaced. Only place I have been able to locate is Year one and they want $75 which seems a bit rich for a nylon...

    C Body Dana

I have been communicating with mrmopartech on this matter and received the information I need to positively identify this unit, preliminary analysis is that the unit is a factory dana 60, but I will post photos once they become available in support of knowledge for all. Right now the entire car...

    C Body Dana

Dana is out of a 1965 300L, 413 automatic car. Rusted too much to salvage and sitting in my yard because I don't throw out such good parts!

    C Body Dana

So why shouldn't I narrow my c body dana to fit my 70 swinger project? This is a budget car and I own a dana 60 with 4:10 posi in it from a chrysler 300. Looking at the cost of a a body posi either dana or 8 3/4 it seems likely narrowing the one I have is the low budget route. I don't know...
