Removing glued on carpet, any tips?

I've had luck with Automotive Goo-Gone, make sure it's the Automotive variant. Removes undercoat too. Also, it's easier to remove things with like things, for example I've used oil to remove a petroleum based glue, whereas using hot water and soap was useless.

Replacing Instrument Cluster bulbs with LEDs - Illumination Detail Question - 67 Barracuda

Years ago, I bought the ebay new circuit boards, built a small wire harness with a ground wire to each light/gauge, welded a stud to the firewall or dash, and grounded my new harness to that. Replaced the bulbs with Sylvania or whatever I bought. Not in your retina bright, but bright as I'll...

    67 Barracuda Speedometer Questions

Fun fact, '67 with the 383 was the only version with mandatory disc brake option, and dual exhaust. 383 was only available with the Formula S and required the disc brake option (disc not standard on Formula S). The dual exhaust was specific to the '67, included with the 383, and not available...

1965 Valiant bench seat seatback issues

The 'hook' in the center looks bent down a bit, also, I've seen people drill a hole and use a pin on the outer hinge because the metal caps pop off, but it looks like the hole/pin are too far out on the stud causing the seat to slide away from the center pin. Also, there should be a hard...

    Speaker Ports

My 6x9 boxes have the plastic round +/- speaker wire connector on the back, if yours has those maybe just remove and do the toilet roll test there? I might try it on mine now that I think of it. Another car, I used old school home stereo boxes, drilled out to fit 6x9 so there is a gap around...

    Patching vinyl seat covers?

I fixed a few tears in vinyl seats with superglue. I put superglue on a tiny section, once it was set, in 30 seconds, on to another tiny section. I held the two sides together, using one or more of these: with a small needle nose pliers, a tiny flat head screwdriver, sewing needles, just...

    Bench Seat support fixes

I learned that upholstery isn't all that difficult, in fact it's fairly easy. I bought hog rings and the hog pliers, inexpensive. I recently dismantled a seat to replace the seat frame, old one was rusted out. Cut all the hog rings off and pulled the cover off. I went to the local fabric store...

    Steering column rebuild 67 barracuda

Imo, if the plastic keeping the collapsible shaft at a certain length is broken or gone it's not a big deal. Once the column is mounted, the inner shaft can't get pulled out from inside the car because the upper bearing is locked in place with a clip, and it can't get pulled out the bottom. If...

68 Barracuda 4 speed carpet install

I have a 4 speed no console, my understanding was the carpet is the same, 4 speed with console or without. Part of the carpet on the hump sticks out the side of the console, aka the console doesn't completely cover the hump. I'm guessing the pictures with the carpet hump attached to the console...

    Steering column rebuild 67 barracuda

The plastic 'bearing' holds the inner tube inside the outer column tube. Plastic slides in the end of the outer tube, where you have your brass piece, and is retained by 1 bolt. Then, the inner tube slides into the plastic bearing. With the bearing the way you have it, you can't put the plastic...

Stitching a leather cover on a 69 rallye steering wheel.

A lifelong mopar guy I know uses the below on his steering wheel restorations. He told me it works great, but dries hard so don't put too much on or you'll be sanding forever. His steering wheels do look amazing.

    Interior light options

Yup, iirc I called them when I received mine, years ago, and asked wth I'm paying for an incomplete harness? They were of no help, probably because they just import it and bump the price up. I recall finding larger white plastic pieces for the bulbs, but I cannot find where I got them. I image...

HAS ANYONE RECOVERD THERE OWN SEATS ?

I did front and rear with legendary covers and kits. Bought the hog pliers as well. In my experience, legendary videos did not help at all. Carefully taking apart the seats, and taking multiple pics was key. Large table, thick blankets, sun, time. I used large plastic clamps and 2x4s wrapped in...

Trying to figure this all out (aftermarket stereo system)

Seems a bit much. Bluetooth Pioneer stereo, no cd, marine antenna, it's basically just a wire hidden under the dash, 6x9s in old school home stereo boxes in the back, kept the quick connects. The Pioneer has plenty of power, no cds, simple wiring, no worries.

64 Valiant 2 Door Sedan Carpet Questions

My 64 b-body has a few metal brackets at the toe board and the carpet slides into them. It also had small rectangular brackets under the inner sill plates that hold the carpet down. Not sure if these are true for same year a-body. I hate cutting carpet, but it did cut like butter from the...

Aftermarket Steering Wheel for 66 Barracuda with stock column?

Superior 500 was on my car when I got it. Love the look, but it was a little slippery at times, so I added the old school tie on grip. Love it even more. It doesn't cancel the turn signals, but it might be missing a piece, it was missing a few other parts for the horn when I got it. I just...

    Bench Seat question

I don't have all the pics I took on my phone, but in this one you can clearly see the wires woven into the burlap. In the front seat they were woven into the foam. There is also a piece of burlap, or something, hog clipped to the top springs and the bottom springs in the middle, which actually...

    Bench Seat question

Redfish is right on, I noticed that when I redid my seats myself. The original foam was also formed, it rolled over the edges, not a giant square block that sat on top. How to sanitize interior after long-term rodent intrusion?

With long rubber gloves, a full respirator, and throw away old clothes, I sprayed everything down, removed the seats, and put the carpet and any nest material into a large heavy duty garbage bag and sealed it up.
