Projection maybe ?
If you are are proficient with the tranys why dont you just post how you would build it instead of hijacking a thread with insults ? Did I miss the posts where someone set you off ?
???? What ? 2 of you in your county ? Are you already hammered or just Phsyco ?
( that is pronounced “Sike O”)
Both of us have been upfront about our lack of knowledge .
Everything I find is about Diesel applications which is probably overkill for a gas engine … even a 500” 600 ft-lb build . Diesels come on much more abruptly than gas .
As for the Barracuda trany I want it to handle up to 400 hp and be reliable. That may only require a rebuild kit with good...
If you are referring to the duplicates I dont know how that happened. I trid to remove them but new format is clumsy and I failed. ( gave up )
As for wasting Hackjobs time … He should speak to whomever was there in the room with him forcing him to read this thread . And if you are an expert...
I tore it down yesterday and it looks new inside ! I will still upgrade the clutches , add a 3.8 or 4.2 lever , billet pistons , upgrade the bands , as well as some fluid flow enhancements and a shift kit .
Precision Transmissionshas a series of Youtube videos that cover the 47 and 48 series trans and upgrades . He does mostly diesel stuff but from what I understand internals are similar.
46rh out of an early 90s 2wd Dakota , Ram or van. Bolts up to block but will need some tunnel fab and a shorter drive shaft . I just picked one up for my 68 Fastback.
I understand that they went to electronic control around 95ish but why do ther refer to one as a 518 and the other as a 46RH when both are 1994 vehicles ? It could be possible that the van plant still used the old 518 jargon I suppose
1 will be for my 68 Barracuda with a mild 360 ( 360 hp ) and the other is for my 78 Dodge RV C-Class with a 440 and 4.10s.
Which one is best for each application ?
I was in a local salvage yard last week and found a 94 Dakota and a 94 B250 with ODs. 200$ each ! Think I will grab them .
Question is why does the van denote it as a 518 and they Dakota a 46RH ?
It was a TSB on A/T equipped Cummins models around 1990 first . Then they started installing them during production . I remember when the TSB came out .
Seems like Chrysler would have had warehouses full of rebuild parts for them . I guess people just gradually grew used to the noises and didnt have it addressed.
I have 3 or 4 of them already . I was just thinking about disassembling them and micing the parts. If I could just get the shims that would take up a lot of the slack .
