Modification of K-member idler arm mount advice

One of the old Chrysler Master Tech training videos on drivability said to look for incorrect idler arms if car is wandering . Said to measure distance from the ground on both pitman and idler arms . should be the same . If they are different your cornering toe will change during bumps or...

Modification of K-member idler arm mount advice

(Big surprise) That was rude ! As for the idler arm position make sure the idler arm itself ends up and the same position as the pitman arm relative to the ground and is the same length or you will (could) have a problem with toe in during bumps and on crowned roads or cornering .

Looking for someone to rebuild the Upper and lower control arms, 70 Dart with factory disc brakes

A ft of threaded rod , a few washers , nuts and some sockets of the right size will do it for the upper arm bushings . Torch out the lower arm bushings the cut the remaining shells. Reinstall with above threaded rod . Upper ball joint needs the correct socket or really big pipe wrench.

    16:1 vs. 24:1 steering

This thread has me thinking about alignment specs for manual boxes . I had my Dart ( manual) aligned to the same specs as my Barracuda ( power) using Skosh chart specs ... was this a mistake ? What specs would make the steering effort easier without having a wandering car ? I run 215/75-14 front...

does it matter wich side you install your torsion bars?

I have installed them incorrectly in the past . Even though I knew better but was in a hurry and just plain forgot. They did not break but one adjuster was in much more than the other to get the ride height correct and level. Which is how I realized my mistake. Not too hard to correct...

How do I get the lift I need without shackles?

Flip your front hangers. You will need to enlarge the bolt holes in the chassis because the top and bottom bolts are spaced differently . Or you can buy custom brackets that have two sets of eyelet holes.

Dust Boot On Then Slide Torsion Bar In?

Slide the Tbar in from the back then install the boot . The trick to getting the boot on is to cut off the end of a tapered trany funnel at the point that is just a little bigger than the Tbar , coat the funnel with grease and slide the boot on . Eazy Peezy .
