Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

Thanks for all the info! Looks like I am going to have to wait a while to build another engine, but this is good info regardless.

Thats good to know, because I remember the older ads being "Dynamic" and then I saw somw that said "Frank Lupo's Dynamic" and I just thought they changed the name or something. Thanks! I still have yet to call...trying to wrap up this magnum and finish the fall cleanup/winter prep of the...

Fold down rear seat vs body stiffness

I was wondering about that. I haven't really looked at the latches yet, but everything you said makes sense. Maybe I will just do the offset hanger deal and take advantage of the extra room from that and leave the rest alone.

Looking at the pics, I'm already getting some ideas!

Fold down rear seat vs body stiffness

Awesome!! I really, really appreciate the info. Honestly, it almost looks like the fold-down cars may be stronger, with all the extra bracing. I'm not too worried about it now after seeing your pictures. I was honestly contemplating selling the car. I may, once I get the plastic peices...

Fold down rear seat vs body stiffness

Side note: I won't have sticky tires for a while, probably 17" with tires to make it handle. Down the road I would like to make it a 5 or 6 speed. Waay down the road.

Fold down rear seat vs body stiffness

My 1973 Dart Sport 340 is the planned home for my W2 headed 422 if I ever get it done. The car is pretty much rust free, mostly original (but shot, and wearing the ugliest stripes in the history of cars). I already added a tubular radiator support, and torque boxes, subframe connectors...

Cool! I am going to try to call around either today or tomorrow. Thanks for the info! I always forget about PTC, everytime I think of a converter I always think of Dynamic, I think I remember the ads more from Mopar Action in the pre-internet days for some reason (I'm 34 but I have been...

    Cam Centerline questions

Oh, I took crackedbacks advice and contacted another well-respected builder. He gave me the general outline of the cam he would recommend, and it is in line, or a little bigger, than what cracked and rrr were saying. He also said to use thicker head gaskets, try to bring the compression down...

    Cam Centerline questions

I think that is definitely in the works. I was against thick head gaskets for some odd reason. You mentioned it, I started thinking, why am I against that? It isn't like I am gonna have any quench anyway...then another member or two mentioned it. I think I will do it. Man...I wish I had...

    Cam Centerline questions

Thanks for all the answers! Alot of that I kind of assumed/educated guessed, good to hear that I may not be too far off yet lol. Thats exactly what I thought about a converter, especially since I have never built something like this before. I always just built engines with at the most a...

    Cam Centerline questions

Here is a question. Pretty much every solid I have looked at gives a different stall for a 340 and a 360. Obviously, it is because of the longer stroke of the 360 moving the rpm range of the cam down a little. How much lower, in general, does the rpm range, and stall speed, move in an engine...

That is a really good article. It got me thinking in a few different directions. Its interesting how just small changes can affect output.

    Cam Centerline questions

I have never heard of Edge, I was thinking about going with dynamic. I'm not too worried about the stall, but I would like to keep it as low as possible. This time around, I will pay the money for a good, efficient converter. I was thinking about waiting to make the calls until after I am...

    Cam Centerline questions

That is on the agenda for today I think. The Lunati cam is close with [email protected] and .596 lift. Do they custom grind cams, say, the one I picked out but with a different centerline?

Didn't you used to have a solid flat tappet in yours? From what I can tell, it seems like the solid rollers are more streetable than the flat tappets. Hmmm...

I used 1800, just because I couldn't remember, and I figured I would rather err to the high side. I just checked, the elevation where I live is 1000', and the local track, Quaker, is 1300'. That's what led me to that cam, I plugged all kinds of cams into there. It is about the lift that I...

I am noticing that too about the cam grinders. If the accuracy of the recommendation affected their salary, I'm sure there would be higher hp and happier people! I have talked to bullet before, except on the phone it was with Tim and he seemed to know his stuff. It wasn't him that sent me...

Here is the cam I was thinking about. Its a Lunati Voodoo solid flat tappet, pn 30200743, 288/296 adv, 259/[email protected], .586/.606 lift w/1.5 rockers, 110lsa and 106cl. Its not alot bigger, but it seems alot closer to what I want. How well would this one work?

    Cam Centerline questions

Lol, you know enough that I don't take your advice or opinions lightly! The guy that had the shortblock before me ran pump gas, but that was with aluminum Indy heads and 65cc, he had quench to help him, and a huge roller cam. I am hoping to get it to be pump gasable (I made that word.), but I...

    Cam Centerline questions

Seems like I have a new question every day! I sent Bullet a rec form for my stroker recently. They sent back a recommendation similar to what comp told me, and I guess I am a little baffled. I know already I will be on the ragged edge of pump gas. My comp with my 422 sb will be...

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

Thats the part that has me stumped. I know in the end its just numbers and whatever works best, works best, but the numbers help me understand it lol. So, it would let the same amount, or similar, to the 950hp. Are the throttle plates the same diameter? I haven't done alot of research, and...

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

Thats basically what I was understanding from alot of guys. This is my first stroker, first experience with W2s, cam bigger than 240ish @.050, first solid cam, first engine over 9.5:1, etc. Pretty steep learning curve, especially since it seems like strokers behave quite a bit differently.

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

Thats not a bad price, I looked a little the other day but just at 850s lol. As long as it is complete, a used one needing rebuilt isn't out of the question. Unless it was rebuilt by someone I personally trust, I would probably tear it down anyway. I will have to check out prices again...

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

If I did go that route, I wouldn't be afraid to match it all up and blend it with a dremel and some sanding rolls. As long as all the internal ports lined up. I think the one thing that keeps bouncing back and forth in my head is 1) Put $120 or so in my 750 or 2) sell the rebuilt 750 for $175...

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

Its going to see upwards of 65-6800, or as high as I need to go lol. The W2s will be ported, and I am leaning towards the Lunat Voodoo solid 288/296 259/[email protected] .586/.606 110lsa cam, although the one below it in size isn't out of the question. My goal is to break into the 10's once its all...

Should I modify my 750dp, or just go bigger?

I have my Holley 750 double pumper (4779) all apart for a rebuild (I got it used), and I just had a few questions. I have rebuilt a ton of carbs, so no issues on the "how to" in that respect. I was just curious to see if there was any worthwhile way to increase the airflow on the 750 to make...
