I would say pennzoil synchromesh. I’ve ran that before in the A833 and I liked it.

What shift linkage will you be using? I’d be interested in pictures. Or a somewhat detailed explanation of how you go about it. Since I think the operating levers and shift levers would be different. I want to put a short tail housing A-body unit in my truck.

You might need something thinner than a butter knife. Maybe a piece of those metal banding strips you get at the lumber yard.

It seems you, and maybe a couple other guys are having issues with the popping out of gear. They sent theirs back and now its fixed. I can only hope I'm one of the lucky ones who won't have any issues. I wont know yet, my car is still in the shop for some Vitamin C Orange. Sure looks good on...

Good god dude. I’m terribly sorry. I’m getting totally fed up with our mailing system. UPS, fedEx, US mail they all need to get their act together. UPS especially, I really don’t like UPS. I’d file a claim and make them pay for a whole new transmission and I wouldn’t stop until they paid up.

You make a good point... I have a new QuickTime scattershield, and when I hook up the linkage that is proper for ‘71 and down, it’s not quite perfectly in line... I wonder if the ‘72-up ballstud would line up better... I should call QuickTime and ask what they designed the bell to use...
