@sireland67 I don’t know if you can see this video, but this girl removed all the leafs on the front spring and just left the one! And she’s running 700 pounds of weights up front. She said that was her solution to stop wheel hop. Truck hooks great now. I know every setup is different but I’m...

Front axle bolted in. Next thing is making the rear axle all gussied up, and find new leaf spring bushings to press in. Maybe next week.

I got a little more done this week. There’s a guy who has a small fab shop who makes lift brackets and crossmembers and what not for these trucks. So this is the best way to go about doing a suspension lift without using lift springs. I want to do more truck pull stuff with this truck so weak...

So a friend of mine owed me a favor and came with his mobile blasting rig and stripped the frame and painted it for me. I’ll clean up the axles and springs next, and I can have me a nice rolling chassis.

Was playing with the front axle a little bit. Painted and shiny cover. Lol

Thank you kind sir. How’s the project with the early hemi coming along?

Darn it. It WAS. I traded it for the box I have now. LOL. I’m sorry. The reverse rotation boxes are definitely harder to find. They were a good setup.

Thanks! I bought them from Jungle Jim over at RamCharger Central. Here’s a write up about it and all the products he offers for dodge trucks. https://www.ramchargercentral.com/threads/jungles-frame-stiffening-crossover-kit-install-by-ey8s.330926/#post-3586026

That is one cool old power wagon! I really like Dana 60 rears. Pretty strong for what they are. I put a Dana 70 in my other W200, but if or when that blows, I’m gonna go with a Dana 80. I’m probably going to put an Aussie Locker in the Dana 44 on this one. It’s cheap enough. And I can do it...

Precisely. I didn’t mention that. I grabbed another box from an early 80’s Dodge truck. I forget the cutoff year that was, ‘75 maybe? But after 78 or 79 I think they went to the metric o-ring fittings on the ports of the box.

This truck is also getting crossover steering, so I had the passenger side knuckle machined flat and drilled for the steering arm. Moved the steering box to the 2 wheel drive location and welded in frame stiffening plates to complete the conversion.

Thank you. It’s a little more fun this time around. I’m kinda just using what I got, cleaning up and painting parts as I go. I did convert the Dana 44 to disc brakes using all the parts from the outer axle shafts, and spindles-out, from a Chevy K20 Dana 44/10 bolt, and used Warn hubs.

Small block, NP435 and divorced 205. Dana 60 rear and drum brake dana 44. This had a 360 but I blew it up. I have too much fun with manual transmissions. I bought this back in 2020. Finally doing something with it. It’s just gonna be a driver, kinda down and dirty. I pulled the front clip...

How do you like the passon 5 speed? Any issues?

    74 power wagon dream truck...

@j par how long is your Speedo cable? My speedometer doesn’t work for some reason. It’s a 2 piece unit that goes from the gauge to a little reduction box? I guess that’s what it is, then another cable goes from that to the transfer case. id like just one long cable…

I wanna go to the county fair and enter the truck pulls. But I can only do an exhibition run, because the blower puts me in super modified class!! LOL traction bars came highly recommended. :)

    74 power wagon dream truck...

Excellent! Something you might try is adding some bushings if you want to use that T-case support. I’d still like to make one for my truck. But right now, my biggest hurdle is wheel hop. I NEED to make a set of traction bars.

Oh that’s right. 205 Divorced transfer case. What I’ve noticed with mine was my transfer case shifter bracket that bolts to the trans crossmember…. The bolt holes are slotted, allowing adjustment of the shifter bracket location. Mine would hang up a little, and not like to shift, I loosened the...

As for your steering box, Straight Line Steering here in California can set you up with a very nice box. They are a small shop, that do excellent quality work and only use US made parts. Not your standard rebuilt steering box from the parts store. Their website is kinda behind the times, but...

What transfer case was it again? 203, 208? When you rebuilt it, did you find a new chain? are your driveshafts “in-phase”?

Well it works. The temperature of the fluid before adding the cooler was 160-180 degrees. You could not touch any part of the metal lines. Now the lines are just warm to the touch, I was recording about 100 degrees after adding the cooler.

I’m done, made the lines, drilled some holes for the bulkhead fittings. Should work ok.

Thank your sir! Runs pretty good. Stops even better than before! The Hydroboost unit works really nice. Great pedal feel, don’t have to mash on the pedal. I’m happy. -Only thing, the power steering lines get pretty hot, which I’ve read is somewhat normal, but I’m going to add a plate style...

    James’ 1974 W200 build

I cut the brake pushed off the old booster, had a friend chuck it on a lathe, drill and tap to fit the pushrod on the new Hydroboost unit. I was not happy with a universal heim joint with a coupler nut. This way I can use the factory pedal pushrod bolt as well.

Got the flex lines done. Turned out OK. I don’t really like stainless braided hose. I made the hard lines off the booster kind of the opposite of how they should be, I don’t like how the pressure line coming from the pump crosses over, I tried to re-make them but they just weren’t coming out...
