    Header install 69 Dart

Get a ford explorer 8.8 and shorten the LH tube use 2 RH axles. These things come with good gear ratios, a mopar large 5 bolt 4.50" bolt pattern with 1/2" RH studs, are all SAE thread, use rear discs, and most have a limited slip. They all have 31 spline truck axles. The bonus they are all over...

    Header install 69 Dart

Hedman makes nice shorty block hugger headers. On the LH side you run into having to snake a head pipe around the starter and center link. You will have to make your own headpipes, or have a muffler shop do it. The header dump flanges exit straight down about even with the oil pan mating flange...

    Not Hung Well...

Pic of transition pan upside down. Heres where they should be holding the rear of the muffler up. Passenger side bracket is bolt in behind the seat. Theres 3 dimples in the pan to drill for the bracket with studs. These pieces I homemade to replicate the OEM RH brackets use for dual exhaust...

    What would you do?

Theres a guy on here selling 73-74 360 exhaust manifolds. Those would be nice as an upgrade that's still stock. Run a 2&1/2" pipe setup all the way back with an H or X pipe, and when you decide on that magnum 360 swap, you will be ready to go.

    What would you do?

B or D if you can get the pricey manifolds

    Dakota manifolds for A body

273 according to the hot rod article it looks like a set of hogged out and port matched 318 A body exhaust manifolds would work just fine. The HP and torque on stocker 318 manifolds for the same given RPM isnt much less than the 340 HPs. Headers honestly for the most part suck for street...

    Dakota manifolds for A body

440randy Dakota pickup and full size pickup magnum manifolds are I believe the same part number. Again you need to check the search function on the site. I believe there was an issue on 67-76 A body power steering cars with clearance. I dont remember 100% as it was several years ago. I believe...

    Dakota manifolds for A body

440randy Use the search function on fabo. This was talked about a few years back, there were issues I believe with these and power steering boxes.
  19. moparmat2000

    Dakota manifolds for A body

It's less tight in a 72, however OP did not state manual or power box. That makes a difference

    Dakota manifolds for A body

You want to look for the 91-92 magnum ones. These have the larger diameter exit. 93 up the PN changes and they use a smaller exit. 72-76 A body 340-360 LH manifolds are a bit easier to find than the 68-71 340 ones. I found a set of those 91-92 dak ones in my local boneyard but passed on em...

    Dakota manifolds for A body

Valkman, do you have a manual box or power box. I think the issue with the LH dak manifold is interference with a power steering box. If you use a borgeson power box, this will probably be a non issue, but that isnt cheap either.
  22. moparmat2000

    Dakota manifolds for A body

Your best bet is an A body LH early 1970s 340 360 manifold, and a jeep grand cherokee magnum RH manifold.

    High flow exhaust Manifolds?

If your running a performer RPM you wont have a heat riser in the manifold and wont need the heat riser flapper.

    High flow exhaust Manifolds?

Yep 68-71 340 hi po manifolds. From what I understand these flow about as good as shortie headers. They are pricey nowadays and originals are in limited supply. As hemisedan stated theres repops of them out there if casting numbers and originality dont interest you. I dont believe the repops...
