Why then can you buy Billet steel caps for an 8 3/4?. I understand that those do require some machine work but im not sure what. I am not getting into a pissing match weather you are supposed to or not. Thats what I want.

These appeared on the AP5 (Australian Production). The are not easy to find as they are now very brittle and broke in the middle when removing them. They do make repros but you may be lucky finding an old one in good nic.

Make sure is the correct one. I ordered one thru Rockauto and it arrived the wrong one. I bought one from Ebay $25.

No these look like they go over the roof on a half vinyl car. The ones I want go accross the C pillar. They fit on a full vinyl roof car and go from RQ window to rear windshield on either side.
