Be interesting to see what they make and how much difference their is between the 2.

    Some TrickFlow curiosity work

I feel like TF did a really good job with the BB 240 and 270 heads and I was pleased with my 240s I got. My dad got a set of TF 190s and he picked up roughly .15 in the 1/8 mile compared to Edelbrock's on the same engine. Both were OTTB, but maybe it was just me, but I was hoping/expecting a...

    Some TrickFlow curiosity work

I would've thought that Trick Flow would've had the head flowing better until .600 lift or so since to me it's more a performance head. Most guys that build an engine use a fairly decent size cam in their engines, I'm not saying it needs to be a .700-.800 lift, but .600 is pretty common anymore.

    head gasket

    I'd go with cometic personally.

    Header studs or bolts?

I try and use studs where I can, but it's not always possible with the bend in the header tube. For locations like these I've started using the header bolts that use a 3/8" wrench so I can get the wrench on better.

    Man that thing is scooting.

New TrickFlow vs Edelbrock Victor340 intake testing. Numbers are in.

I'm kind of surprised the Trick Flow didn't outshine the Victor as the finish on the Trick Flow looks better/cleaner or more finished.

Not the 1st time I've seen this happen.

Mahle forged 4.040 flat top pistons

I've bought from them twice, both times everything went smoothly. The one time I ordered pistons from them via online. I got a phone call from them with an hr or so letting me know the .030 pistons were out of stock for I think it was 2 months at that time, but they had .040 pistons in stock so...

    External or internal balance?

If given a choice I'd go with internal balance. The one stroker I built I bought the induvial pieces as a "kit" was available for the options I wanted. Had my machinist balance it for me. My dad bought a Scat 408 kit that was "balanced". After he got it running that thing shook worse than...

Interested in seeing how this actually looks once someone receives ones.

Mahle forged 4.040 flat top pistons

CnCmotorsports is where I've bought my last set of pistions, you could see if they have them in stock.

I counted my small block stash today.

Never hurts to have an extra or 2.

What do you think about this 318 guys.

Depends on the shop, as some shops really charge $$. Back in 2017 I had an engine built by a local shop. Cost me $2400 in machine work, assembly and dyno. I'm sure prices have increased in that time and $3K wouldn't be out of the question nowadays.

What do you think about this 318 guys.

Nice numbers for a 318 if they are legit. I've seen dyno's #'s of some guys race car engines that well, run like a dog lol.

    That's ugly.

Received a very nice thank you from Edelbrock today.

Nice to see that as a customer your time and communication with them to help correct their product was valued.

    CNC Motorsports

I ordered most of the parts for my wife's stroker from them about 5 years ago. I placed the order online and got a phone call from them either the same day or the next day. The .030 pistons I ordered weren't in stock and were like 2 months out at that time. They had .040 pistons in stock so I...

    Trick Flow heads

My dad has the mancini 1.6 rockers on his engine. Solid flat tappet right around .600 lift. Hasn't had any issues, but I wouldn't necessarily consider his engine high HP. Probably making mid to low 500 HP.

    Victor340 update

Glad to see that they responded and trying to correct the issue. I had an Victor 340 intake I bought probably 10 years ago off eBay that the ports didn't align properly. I contacted them and told them I bought it used, etc and they had me send it to them and sent me a new one. The only thing I...

Short oil filter w/headers vs 90 Degree set up?

We've used cheap Jegs or Summit brand (can't remember), Hedman and Doug D453 headers on our cars. Never had to use a 90 degree adapater and we use the Mopar 090 oil filter.

Not mine. Anyone in Pa need a race car.

I guess the bigger question after last week post is how many runs does the engine have on it? Being it's 650 HP and only good for 100 passes, maybe that's why the guy is selling it
  23. moparstud440

Not mine. Anyone in Pa need a race car.

Anyone know the car and does it back up the claim of 650 HP?
  24. moparstud440

You learn something new everyday. How long will an LA small block hold up at 550 horsepower

If tuned right and decent parts used you should wear the block out before you break it at the 550HP IMO. A lot of keyboard warriors on Facebook and other sites. Add in the ones who dyno'd their motors but the ET slips aren't even close to what it dyno'd.

    1 5/8 headers

Currently have Doug’s D453 headers on a 408. I feel they maybe a tad small but don’t know if it’s worth spending the $$ for bigger tubes and I’d rather not cut the inner fenders.
