Brake Pushrod for 70 Duster disk conversion

They say the manual brake rods are the same from 67-76. I just swapped my 69 barracuda from front drum to disc and could not get a good pedal. Thought it was air in the lines, but after ALOT of bleeding figured it had to be the master cylinder. Got a 2nd new master cylinder and same issue. I...

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

I received the new master cylinder on Friday and got it painted, bench bleed, installed on car and than bleed each wheel several times. Pedal felt a little better but was still soft. Back when I first starting messing with this issue I took my the brake rod off my 1975 Duster to measure since...

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

Just wanted to give an update on this. I bought a vacuum bleeder and finally got around to bleeding the rear brakes today. I did both the passenger and driver side. I pulled the fluid from the front reservoir to about 1/2 way twice for each side. Had a good steady stream of fluid and didn't...

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

I have not. I don't always have an extra person around to help bleed the brakes, so I ordered a vacuum bleeder to give that a shot. I'm certain the front brakes are functionally 100% as when I bleed the rear brakes I still have half of a pedal. When I bleed the rear brakes the pedal goes to...

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

Yes. The front calipers are mounted on the rear (behind the spindle) and the bleeders are at the top.

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

Just using the proportioning valve in place of the original distribution block. I thought that's all I needed?

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

Rear brakes were adjusted so there is a slight drag/scrapping. Master Cylinder is correct for Drum/Disc. Front reservoir is smaller and the back one (closer to firewall) is larger. I didn't realize the rear would not gravity bleed, I'll continue to bleed the rears and see if I can get a better...

    Bad Master Cylinder or Air?

So I swapped my car from front drums to disc this winter. Bought a new master cylinder, swapped out the distribution block for a proportioning valve. Front calipers and hoses are new. The 1st pump on the pedal it almost goes to the floor but will stop the car but takes awhile. The 2nd pump has...

    Master Cylinder Pushrod

I couldn't find anything online that stated what the difference is. So I tore my 2 cars apart to find out. My 69 cuda that was factory drum/drum pushrod is about a 1/8" shorter than my 75 duster factory disc/drum pushrod. 69 cuda measured 6 7/16" 75 duster measured 6 9/16" Thats from end to...

    Master Cylinder Pushrod

Is the Master Cylinder Pushrod rods the same from drum/drum to disc/drum master cylinders? If not anyone happen to know what the length of each is?

    Proportioning Valve

I swapped the master cylinder for disc/drum setup. I used the brake rod that was in the car..is a disc/drum rod longer than a drum/drum?

    Proportioning Valve

Manual brakes. Rear mounted the calipers, but bleeders are at the top. I adjusted the back brakes. I didn't bench bleed master cylinder so I think I still have an air pocket trapped in there yet.

    Proportioning Valve

I recently switched my car (69 cuda) from front drums to disc. I bleed the lines, but still might have some air in the lines, but not positive. My pedal still feels a little on the "weak" side. I still have the factory Distribution block. I know I should change it out for a proportioning...

    Brake hoses?

Thanks for the information. I have all the parts cleaned up and painted. Plan on tackling the project this weekend if the weather is yucky. I haven't gotten brake hoses just yet since the car doesn't have a swaybar (I thought it did for some reason) so waiting to see which way works out better...

    Brake hoses?

Yes factory sway bar is installed and will be used.

    Brake hoses?

I was comparing the fitting of the brake hose that connects to the brake line. On an A Body it is straight where as on a F/M body it is 90 degree. Didn't know how much of a different this would make.

    Brake hoses?

I have a 1969 barracuda that I am upgrading to disc brakes. I am going to use the front brakes from a 1982 Dodge Diplomat. I'm working on gathering all the parts and pieces I need so I can hopefully do the swap in a weekend. Would the hoses from a 1982 diplomat work or what application car...

    spindles - will they work?

Thanks. I already changed the car over to 4.5" bolt pattern so that change is no big deal. I'll have to gather up some UCA's though.

    spindles - will they work?

I just got done redoing my 69 barracuda and got it on the road but the front 9" drum brakes are not as great as I'd hope they would be. I had a 1976 Dodge Daytona Charger that I sent to scrap a few years back, but I keep the front disc brake assembly off of the car. Will the spindles work for...
