You do need to "waller out" one hole, seems to be a thing with Magnums...lol

We used a factory 2 piece off eBay. Funny thing, it had a drivers side timing mark, like you would expect. And the passenger side one for our 273 timing pointer too!!

An older chrysler starter wont fit a 904 with a factory magnum flexplate either. Probably will run the factory magnum flexplate for now as we just want the trans back in the car. But I would like to have a backup plan if the factory flexplate fails. And I'm not sure the cutout shape of the...

So, if I'm getting this right, to put a 5.9 Magnum and a 904 together with a neutral balance converter I would need a 10230 and a template of a 10241? Or, a converter with 5.9 Magnum weights and a 10230?

They are different, I know that much. We haven't broken the stocker yet so we have time to figure something out! !

we have a 5.9 with an early magnum truck balancer and the original Magnum flex plate with weights. No vibration issues.

Problem solved!!!! Bendix drive of the original starter hitting the tone ring of the Magnum flex plate. Mini starter hitting a projection on the Magnum block. Die grindered it off and the Mini starter fits!! An early A trans must have the starter closer to the centerline of the block than later...

I have an adaptor for the small register vs big crank hole now. Flex plate is installed with the crank sensor ring towards the trans. I am hoping the starter is wrong.
