    I did the same, though it was easy because Johnny Lightning made the model based on my car in the first place. But it had generic chrome mag wheels, so I swiped the Rallies off a Duster to match my car in the photo.

    Well, the Johnny Lightning guys did. But I didn't like the generic chrome mags they put on it, so I customized one of them with some rally wheels I took off a Duster.

    Light damages pigments (particularly ultraviolet light). That's why the light levels are so low in museums. You could put anti-UV film on the windows, or install blinds that you keep closed during the hours the sun is shining directly in. But light is light -- if the items are out where you can...

    As kids my older brother had a 64 Valiant convertible model. Looked like a promo, in light blue plastic. AMT, as HyperPak said.
