And removing the anodizing is a must in the areas that are being polished.

I would use a paintable epoxy to fill the holes. That would not work if the holes are in a non painted - polished location. For those I would try that aluminum welding rod that melts with a propane torch.

I did not know that the newer hinges offered adjustment, and what I did was open the holes in the 68 hinges so they are similar to the 72 and up hinges.
