    Mission Creep on a D-150

I was reacting to the statement that the motor was hard to start, no power,,,I saw the low compression comment, but without seeing a number it’s hard to tell how low is what low is. It could be a bit low because the rings have not seated yet. I was suggesting check the easy stuff first.

    Mission Creep on a D-150

Agree it could be cam timing, but check the easy stuff first. *Spark plug wire order *Ignition timing *Has the outer ring on the damper slipped? *If you changed timing covers, the location of the timing tab on the cover has moved over the years. Setting ignition timing with the wrong cover...

    66 barracuda...going for a different look

I also have the Element 50 fire extinguisher in my 68 Barracuda. The dry powder extinguishers can do the job putting out a fire, but will also add to the mess.

1964 Dart Grüne Hölle Road Course/Track Day/AutoX Project

Just saying, you may find something that you want to have different in this engine being built, either at the component level or in the build process.

Greg, have you pulled / disassembled the other motor and determined the cause of the oil pressure issue?

1964 Dart Grüne Hölle Road Course/Track Day/AutoX Project

Remember, CAMT has a 3000 lb minimum without the driver. The 68 Barracuda got selected for a weight check at the CAM Challenge that I participated in. Came in at 3083 lb, don’t know what would happen if a car came in light.

Certainly, if I was in the Irwin PA area the two things on my list would be: 1) pancakes at the Lamplighter Restaurant over in Delmont. 2) checking out the projects in Greg’s garage.

    Mission Creep on a D-150

I have a saying from working on my 68 Barracuda and the 83 D150, ‘nothing is really done until it’s been done twice’.

    1968 Barracuda Notch 340

Not wanting to clog up your post but, as mentioned in post #224 I am also re working the front end on a 68 Barracuda. My project certainly is not as intensive as yours is. You are going great stuff. I have not cleaned up the '67 Dodge Coronet head light bezels or grill, that will happen later...

    1968 Barracuda Notch 340

You are making steady progress. I am also modifying the front end of a 2nd generation Barracuda. Mine is not nearly as intense as yours is, but is similar in that I also am re purposed bezels and grill work from another Mopar. I honestly always really liked everything about the second...

    Color thoughts 68 Barracuda

I don’t think that you can go wrong with either color, but I prefer the original color on cars, even cars that have had visual and/or performance modifications, as a way of connecting the new with the old. Can you post a shot of the interior? I don’t know that I have ever seen a black / white I...

1968 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback (old school build with a new school feel)

I did the same black treatment on the dash bezel on my 68 Barracuda. I like it a lot. I have a post here on FABO on that car, titled Street Cruser. I will check and see if I have a dash photo there. No dash photo, post #37 has a video of an early engine start and shows the Rally dash in black.

I found a front sway bar for my 83 D150 on a camper special D250 at a local PAP.

    Mission Creep on a D-150

Saw the post above on the 90’ D150. A lot of project creep here but I used the gauge cluster out of a 90 D150 in my 83. That gave me a 100 mph speedo, oil pressure and voltmeter gauges and a VSS powered speedometer. Get the VSS sender off the transmission. There are wiring changes but nothing...

    Mission Creep on a D-150

Nice write up. You stole that truck, nice find for the money. I have a slant powered 83 D150 that I did a complete off frame restoration on 10 years ago. It is an April - November daily driver, will never see snow again. It is a fun truck to drive and I enjoy mine a lot. Those are really strong...

    third member sealant

The Right Stuff is a good sealant and can actually eliminate the paper gasket. The problem is, The Right Stuff really glues the two parts that it is used on together. It can be a pain getting the parts to separate if you ever need to go back in to what it was used on. For a differential housing...

Do you have any idea what the up charge was for the RH drive option? And could any Chrysler/Plymouth dealer order that?
  26. my68barracuda

    My RHD Barracuda

Figured that a RH drive car would be built for export, and the majority of those countries use the metric system. I have read the recent post that the car was used for mail delivery. Which is still interesting. Of all the vehicles that could be special ordered for mail delivery, it seems that a...

Yes, I remember now the strut rods limit how far out the weld on tabs can be set. You have a nice build going.
