I was reacting to the statement that the motor was hard to start, no power,,,I saw the low compression comment, but without seeing a number it’s hard to tell how low is what low is. It could be a bit low because the rings have not seated yet. I was suggesting check the easy stuff first.

I also have the Element 50 fire extinguisher in my 68 Barracuda. The dry powder extinguishers can do the job putting out a fire, but will also add to the mess.

Just saying, you may find something that you want to have different in this engine being built, either at the component level or in the build process.

Greg, have you pulled / disassembled the other motor and determined the cause of the oil pressure issue?

Remember, CAMT has a 3000 lb minimum without the driver. The 68 Barracuda got selected for a weight check at the CAM Challenge that I participated in. Came in at 3083 lb, don’t know what would happen if a car came in light.

Certainly, if I was in the Irwin PA area the two things on my list would be: 1) pancakes at the Lamplighter Restaurant over in Delmont. 2) checking out the projects in Greg’s garage.

I have a saying from working on my 68 Barracuda and the 83 D150, ‘nothing is really done until it’s been done twice’.

My 68 Barracuda fastback has the optional deluxe interior and has carpet over the rear wheel wells.

I did the same black treatment on the dash bezel on my 68 Barracuda. I like it a lot. I have a post here on FABO on that car, titled Street Cruser. I will check and see if I have a dash photo there. No dash photo, post #37 has a video of an early engine start and shows the Rally dash in black.
