Barely used is one thing.
All depends on the amount $ time spent
On a fractional rebuild.
He do what each wants.
If you don't have time to accept a possible failure
Down the line. Get new lifters.
Not from China

Believe are A-903 top load trans.
Dont know if gear parts interchange.
I know this trans was not as strong as
A-230 side load 3-spd.
Back in the day some would retro fit
A-903 to become a floor shift model...
Like this one I have out of older challenger.
Lol.
I wouldnt worry about driving as is, driving normally, no excessive speeds, no lengthy trips, etc.
And yes, get the 8 3/4 swapped into car and not have to worry about dinky rearend problems, especially with additional horsepower.
Years ago had similar issue with 7 1/4" rear. Sounded like right rear.
I balanced drive shaft, not it. re balanced all wheels, not it. Replaced rear wheel bearings, not it.
Switched axles one side to other. Sound moved to drivers side.
Went to junkyard picked up another axle......Noise gone...
Pull axles look down housing with flashlight. You see 3/8" hole in center of carrier, good no button.
If you see carriage bolt looking or giant rivethead rounded buttonhead. Use extension magnet and remove both.
As a site of information and hobbyist I don't think it should be that way.
That is if we want to keep our exclusivity.
Lets quit flexin your muscles here
and try to help out .
If you can...wow
How old are most of us?
Lets keep this a body thing rollin
That's what this is all about isn't it?
Did this just start leaking or has it been always a problem?
Had an issue back in the day. Thought axle was bent. Changed axles, inner seal several times.
Assumed housing flange must be slightly bent. Enough to ride more on one side of seal consistently.
Was able to find a heavier duty tighter...
Street/tires racing dont matter what so ever. If your trans brakin or clutch droppin above 4000rpm with not low enough gear with slicks Regardless of HP. Then you should be concerned...........
