    VIN Number location

no problem, I can Imagine the grief it is causing. That vin has to be on the drip rail unless the quarter has been replaced. The factory was not precise where they put it. It could be up by the window, or down close to the tail light. unfortunately, you have to scrape the glue and paint off to...

I would be ragging on that body shop, they can be held liable. Do you have the original engine? if so, at least the last eight will be on the block, and transmission. The 70' challenger has a partial vin on the driver side cowl by the windshield squirter hose, where the hood rests.Maybe a Dart...

    Auto Metal Direct Fitment Issues?

I purchased an Inner fender extension for my 69' dart, the L shaped part that attaches to the trunk, and then out and down to the outer quarter panel. It was of very high quality, and every bit as good as the original.

How do you remove the rear quarter reflector lights on a 69 dart?

if the tabs break, all is not lost. You will have to use two sided tape. The tabs will at least keep the lens in place. And, Don't let anyone tell you B body sedans and hardtops lenses are the same. They aren't. The only car to use 69' dart rear reflectors is the 1969 Coronet station wagon.

What door years will fit a 69 Dart?

all 67-69 dart doors, as well as 70-72 are different by year as the lock button location changes. Not abig problem, but an original 69 is still the best. I have several, but too far for you.

Body VIN Stampings - When Did They Start?

1969, federally mandated. Block, transmission, radiator support, trunk lip , dash, and fender tag. It was for theft deterrent, no other reason. Nobody thought anyone would care about these cars forty years later. The people that built these cars would have considered us Obsessed! Really? HA...

how will ethanol affect my fuel mileage ?

I hate to see it. my family farmed in America since 1848. Supply and demand ruled then, and now. My cousin was on the farm board in Iowa.He hated ethanol then, thinking corn belongs in cattle. It took 58 gallons of water to make one gallon of Ethanol. That is ten gallons of gas for 58 gallons...

how will ethanol affect my fuel mileage ?

The story gets worse. Farmers are repeating history. Corn hit 6.80 a bushel, so land prices went from 2000 an acre to 8000 an acre and up In my area. Now land prices are dropping, but the farmers have bank loans based on the high price, and corn prices are going back down. This all happened in...

Is B3 blue the same as UU1 Blue?

The goofy dealers changed, and added shades all througoht he 70's . I really miss those days! You could choose up to 21 different colors, and probably eight different color interiors. Cars don't all look the same that way. Today, Chrysler is really cheap in that area, they can paint more cars...

Is B3 blue the same as UU1 Blue?

The problem as explained to me is PPG went out of business, and the type of paint made today isn't the same. None would guarantee an exact match, be it Single stage urethane, base coat,or enamel. Water based is a good option, but more money. If there is a good example of the original shade, and...

Is B3 blue the same as UU1 Blue?

My codes are on the PPG guide. The DD1 in 67-68 is the same paint color, as the chart shows. The letters are the shade, and all the paint codes have the numeral 1 at the end. My 68 GTS is JJ1, for gold top, gold bottom. The Parts manual makes that clear. My 67 Chrysler is BZ2. Black painted top...

Is B3 blue the same as UU1 Blue?

I stand corrected by myself! B-3 Blue was first available in 1969.So, there was no B-3 in 67. However, DD1 in 67-68,Pale blue poly looks like 69 B3 light blue poly. 1968 UU1 light blue poly is darker, and first shows up in 68'. I gnore the names normally, the letter code is the main thing to...

Replacing door hinge pins and bushings

I got mine from chrysler. They were used for many years. You will never wear out new bushings. Think about how long the originals have been there. Except an E body, get new hinges in that event.
