My plans for the car include an engine rebuild with a few mods to increase performance. This situation has me thinking I might move up the project and tackle everything at once.

Automotive electric systems are so far out of my wheel house that I don't know where to begin. My gas gauge doesn't work either.

I might have opened a can of worms when I did the CLR flush.

So just ask for a thorough cleaning when I bring the radiator in or is there more they should do?

The temp gauge on my dash doesn't work along with fuel. That's part of the rest i've haven't gotten to yet. I hope not either.

Have an issue that's poped up twice on me. Whenever I take a long ride of an hour or more I start to smell coolant. By the time I got home today the overflow hose was blown off and the radiator was dry. I flushed the system a few years ago with CLR and replaced the thermostat. Not sure what's...

I'm about to take apart my heater and vent boxes. My cables take major effort to move. Has anyone had any success lubricating them and if so, how?

The stat pics are before. I posted them once before and someone thought I fished it out of the sea.

I pulled the thermostat and filled it with CLR. Ran it for about 50 miles and parked it for a week. Flushed it both ways with the hose and was amazed at the crud on the driveway.

I brought the convertible last year in the 97 degree heat. I learned a good lesson, when it's 100 degrees on the blacktop, it's 100 degrees in a convertible. I'll be driving the Taurus this year with the AC blasting.
