Paint does not stick well to chrome plating.

Not sure if they will fit, but I hope they’re more comfortable than the seats in the 2022 accord rental I just had. They looked nice but we’re not comfortable at all.

Personally, I think black would a nice contrast to the white gauge faces…especially during daylight hours.

At the Indy show, they quoted me $400 for an A body pad. I would have bought one but they didn’t have any A body ones at the show!

I’ve never heard of anyone making a retrofit kit for these old seats. Not saying it couldn’t be done, but I think you’d have to take components off a newer set of seats and try to make them fit/work on the old seats and frames. In the end, this is probably why most people adapt modern seats...

I bought this set: 1mm, 2mm, and 4 mm. The 1mm was too small and didn’t work well. 4mm was a bit big but worked well on thicker ribs and such. I used the 2mm most of all. They cover decent-it is tricky to go back and touch up things. I had a broken bezel that I experimented with first.

Here you go! I did a lot of detail work with a Moltow Liquid Chrome paint pen and added the whiteface gauge set, too

I did the carbon fiber ones on my Duster dash pieces. Came out pretty good!

A buddy of mine rolled his Blazer on his side out mudding one night and his sister caught a horseshoe up side the head and got a nice concussion! We were all camping out in the woods and he forgot to pull them out before we went out to have fun!

Well, truth be told: I put a car on its roof and a truck on its side (icy roads on the latter). It’s amazing how much loose stuff you have in a vehicle and it all becomes airborne when the vehicle is no longer on all four wheels!!!!

I’d be more worried about the lead in the paint I ground off my car or from the body seams, than the possibility of asbestos in the padding. Mine appeared to most fiberglass mixed with ground up rags.

Does the upper have a metal core or plastic?

Throw them in the freezer and then install them. If they are thermoset rubber, heat won’t do anything to it, except burn it up eventually.

Always wondered about that myself. Wonder if you could soak the plastic in hot water long enough to increase its flexibility? My guess is they assembled them in a nest and had a flat pad that pressed on the entire glass surface and pushed the glass into the housing or shell

No, it starts with material shortages-the various chemicals need to be reacted with each to make the plastic. Some does come from China, but a lot is made state side, too. When everybody shut down last year, some material manufacturers did to. When things started moving in 3rd quarter...

Probably material shortage. I work in the plastic distribution business and we have lead times up to 20 weeks on some materials

I once painted a set of Dodge truck door panels with “bumper paint”. Supposedly had a flex additive in it. Worked great!

Buy the medium width one. The fine one failed within seconds! I bought the three pack and the medium and wide one were useful.
