Rain really isn't the main issue, its the small rocks that just seem to find their way thru the holes in the backing plates and into the brake drums that do the damage.

Good advice on posting a picture. Some backing plates for the 10 x 2 1/2 application were dual drilled at the factory for e brake cables and a 9/16 rubber plug inserted in the unused hole.

There was a problem with some of the axle flange plates coming loose from the bearing itself on some of the Green bearings units that I have used. I understand that these were supposely recalled by the factory but please beware that some of these units are still out there for sale.
