Did you replace the rear brake hose? Could be a collapsed or damaged hose restricting fluid flow. Hope this helps

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

    1) No 2) Yes, about 3” down. But not rock hard. Still a little spongey 3) Yes. the pedal does not drop after holding for a while. We’re going to New York for Christmas, and are planing on digging back into the car when we get back. I didn’t bench bleed the master. Foolish. Lol. I’ve gotten...

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

No offset adapter, just the 1/4" thick 4 hole to 2 hole adapter. I thought you had an 87 diplomat master cylinder? All of my research shows that as a 1-1/32? Thanks again for all the help. Eric

Do you mean you have to push the pedal twice as far as a new car?

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

I'll crawl my scrawny *** under there and check it next time I get over there. Now that it's been together and worked for a while I'd like to bleed the entire system one more time. Thanks. Eric

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

I am running the same master cylinder you are Bob. 1987 dodge diplomat. 1-1/32 bore. We did not lengthen the pushrod. I never thought about it. I believe we have an extra push rod, I think we're going to try that. Bob, are you running any proportioning valve or residual pressure valves in your...

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

And if I may ask, what bore is your master? I may be off on the bore. That would cause this. Thanks. Eric

4 wheel disk low pedal blues

Wouldn't to much fluid returning to the master cause a low pedal also? That was my thoughts behind the residual valves. I can't pump the pedal up. So I don't believe its air. But I am planing on bleeding again. Now that we've been pumping the brakes for a couple of months. Yeah, I'd say it...

    Polished copper nickel brake line

That's my thoughts also. We like the look of polished stainless, and I don't know if the polished copper look will be right.

How does it polish up? I'm having a difficult time finding good pictures of polished applications.

    Polished copper nickel brake line

Restoring a 1963 Plymouth valiant with my father and son. I'm very fussy about brake line fit and appearance. Normally I use stainless line and polish it upon final fitting. A friend of mine suggested using copper nickel line and polishing it. Anybody use it before? Any pictures? Does it...

4 wheel disk, 4 bolt master cylinder options

I wouldn't think so. The original master cylinder mounted directly to the thin sheet metal of the firewall. So i would think it would be fine.

4 wheel disk, 4 bolt master cylinder options

Thank you very much for the information. I think with a dodge diplomat master cylinder we can make our own adapter out of quarter inch aluminum plate. This just might work, and by doing at our self will save Jason a lot of money. Thank you again. Eric and Jason

4 wheel disk, 4 bolt master cylinder options

And here's another one I haven't been able to figure out? The DR Diff "kit" claims that you don't need to extend your pushrod. How is that possible? I figure even if we use a 1/4" plate we're still going to have to extend the pushrod that much or more. Thanks again for all the help guys...

4 wheel disk, 4 bolt master cylinder options

Thank you very much for the replies guys. On the Dodge pick up and diplomat master cylinders, I'm assuming the residual check valve for the factory rear drum brakes on those vehicles is in the proportioning valve and that the master cylinder doesn't hold pressure on the rear brakes? Also...

Which master cylinder for 4 wheel disk brakes

Thank you for the replies everyone. I have heard of using the Cherokee master cylinder before and was considering that option. What problems do you run into not running a prop valve? Do the backs grab before the fronts because of the smaller caliper bore? Thanks again for the replys. We...

We are switching our project 63 valiant over to 74 E body front disk brakes, and a Ford 8.8 explorer axle with disks as well. What master cylinder is everyone using with 4 wheel disk brakes? Any help would be appreciated. FWIW were keeping manual brakes. Thanks, Eric L

74 E body brake swap onto early A. Which caliper bolts

I picked up a set of 74 challenger front brakes for Jason's 63 valiant, and they had two lengths of slider pins. One is around 4.25 and the other is just over 5". Which one do I need and does anybody have a part number? I found Wagner h5017, I believe that's for the long one. Thanks. Eric L
