Glove box pops open under mild acceleration

My 66 Barracuda race car had the same type of spring loaded glove box door. I used to throw all of my old time tickets into the glove box. Once on a run, the car hooked hard, the door popped open, and I was showered with little pieces of paper. Scared the sh*t out of me until I realized what...

    Custom 67-69 Barracuda cluster/gauges ?

This is a 5 inch autometer gauge. There is a matching speedo/tach combo as well. I always thought they would work in a stock panel. Pricey though.

    Retractable Seat belt

I found a picture of the angle bracket only installed in the floor. It started life as a piece of gate hardware from the hardware store.

    Retractable Seat belt

I originally installed mine using the existing lower anchor point, but I didn't like the angle on the retractor or the belt. I like how the final installation pulls straight up and lines up with the edge of the window.

    Retractable Seat belt

Yes, those are the ones I used in the cuda. I ended up using an angle bracket on the floor that bolted through the double thickness seam in the floor. I used a piece I cut off the bracket as further reinforcement under the floor.

    Dash cap adhesive

Mine was just normal clear silicone. You need to tape it or keep weight on it until the silicone sets up.

    A-Body console Information needed

Mine was a column shift car and I added a console. I set it back a few inches to get the aftermarket shifter in the correct location. I guess I lucked out by gaining extra clearance on the A/C ducting as well.

    Cupholders

I have thought of doing the same thing. Do you have any pictures of how you did it? I was wondering if you could retain the ashtray lid so it hides the cupholder when not in use.

Your seat work looks great. Could you bring the side panels down on an angle \ / so they stay flat.

    aftermarket shifter in factory console

Here is my take on a B&M Quicksilver in a factory console. I actually moved the console back a few inches and raised the shifter off the floor so it would be in a more comfortable position to reach. I run the Lokar kickdown with no interference issues, but it is close.

    B&M Hammer - Console mods

I had to cut a small notch in the front edge of the ashtray to clear the shifter mechanism. I am also going to install a cupholder this winter. I will leave the lid on it so it will be hidden most of the time.

    B&M Hammer - Console mods

If the console is not original to the car, take some time and mock up the position of the shifter. I moved the console back a few inches and made a bracket to raise the shifter about two inches off the floor, to get it where it felt comfortable to use.

    1969 Barracuda Dash Help

I did get my belts from Wesco. I moved the retractors to the rear footwell after that picture was taken. The upper mount uses the stock location as do the lower anchor and the buckle end. I used bench seat buckles but they are a bit too long. I was afraid that the rigid buckles would not...
