Instrument cluster vacuum meter reaction time?

Yes, best to sneak up on it slowly, and test it with your vacuum pump as you go.

Instrument cluster vacuum meter reaction time?

The one I had needed the inlet opened up with a small drill, and after that it worked fine. It was almost like it was filled with solder.

    Rib pattern intake floor

I'm guessing for the exhaust crossover. More surface area to heat the plenum.

Fuel Sending Unit (sock) filter replacement?

I'm in Canada, and none of those were available in a hurry. The angle of the pickup tube at the bottom of the tank is quite shallow. i initially bent the pickup tube a minor amount and test fit it. It cleared by a ton, so I think I ended up bending almost back to the original position. It...

Fuel Sending Unit (sock) filter replacement?

I ended up having to ream mine out with a hand held drill bit until I was able to work it up far enough. I couldn't locate a new one locally, so I ended up getting one from Amazon for a jeep. it was about 50% longer, but I just bent the pickup a tad so that it just touched the bottom of the tank.

Fuel Sending Unit (sock) filter replacement?

I had to cut mine off. Getting the new one back on was a treat too. They are basically a press fit.

1969 Barracuda electric fuel pump placement

This is the only picture I have of the fuel pump mounted on my 69 Barracuda. It is a carter pump and is mounted to the inside of the framerail with the supplied L bracket. It is not as close to the tailpipe as it looks in the picture.

    Demon 625

Are you running a wideband? I had one on my cuda but not on the Charger. Just worried about leaning it out too much.

    Demon 625

Thanks for the info. I am running mine on a mild 361 big block and figured it was fat. The plugs are a bit dark. Could you get away with just a primary rod change with the stock jets?

    Demon 625

Yes, it is much better than the AFB that was on it. It does have a bit of a bog when the secondary kicks in that I have not been able to completely tune out.

    Demon 625

I put one on the 361 in my Charger. I averaged 13-14 mpg on the trip to Carlisle, but that is on a 4000 plus pound car.

    Street Demon accelerator pump nozzles

Thanks, I have quite a collection of Holley parts. I think I have some of the anti pullover squirters. I will have to check

    Street Demon accelerator pump nozzles

Does anybody know if a standard Holley accelerator pump nozzle (shooter) will fit a Street Demon carb? I looked up a picture and the register looks the same.

    Sending unit filter

If the other filter doesn't fit right I may try that. I am afraid that they may have used some kind of adhesive on it. It would not move with pliers and I even tried to drive it off.

    Sending unit filter

So, I tried to remove the filter from the new sending unit and it would not budge. I want to get the tank back in this weekend. Vans sells the correct filter, but because I am in Canada it would take two weeks to get here. I searched Amazon and found one for a Jeep which is the same diameter...

    Sending unit filter

The filter on the original was filthy, and petrified. I cut the plastic off with side cutters. I'll try and remove the new filter tonight.

    Sending unit filter

The second picture is after a quick clean up. Pretty much just surface rust. I cleaned the scale off the float arm and it seems fine as well. I think I will put a spot or two of solder on it when I replace it.

    Sending unit filter

I bought a replacement sending unit but when I pulled out the original sending unit it cleaned up pretty well. I would like to reuse it. It needs a new float and sending unit filter. I was hoping I could use the ones from the new unit. Does anybody know how you can get the filter off the...

    Auto Meter Gas Gauge

I bought an autometer 73-10, but have not installed it yet. I wondered if it might work better than the factory gauge with the aftermarket senders, because maybe the gauge is lineal like the senders?

    Street Demon vs AVS2

I just picked up this Performer manifold from a member here, davescuda, to use with the SD 625, should work well.

    Street Demon vs AVS2

Update I finally found a car to slide under the Street Demon carb. It is a 1966 Charger with a 361. The previous owner added a four barrel and stock dual exhaust, and badged it as a 383 four barrel. The four barrel setup on it is a little weird, using a 76 400 thermoquad manifold with an...

Yes, cam choice is going to be interesting, again trying to avoid the temptation to go too big.

Yes, I was planning on doing that before I install it. Likely bounced around a lot during delivery.

    Street Demon vs AVS2

Yes I was probably a bit skeptical after seeing it in person, I guess I was comparing it to my old 750 DP. The numbers work, so it should be what I need. I have to keep reminding myself I am not building a drag racer this time.

    Street Demon vs AVS2

My last engine was a 500 stroker, built with torque in mind, using a 750 Holley DP. My previous engine was a stock stroke 400 using an AFB. It was a very flexible street combination that made 450 ft/lbs of torque and 415 HP. The AFB ran well, but I hated the constant smell of gasoline in the...

    Street Demon vs AVS2

I received the Street Demon carb yesterday. It is a very nice piece, but I have to say that the throttle plates look smaller in person than in the pictures. The primaries are really tiny, and the secondary is really not any wider than a conventional square bore carb. Now I can see why they...

    Street Demon vs AVS2

Just ordered the Street Demon 625 and the throttle adapter from Summit, 10% off plus another $25.00 discount and free shipping. Seemed like a good deal.

    Street Demon vs AVS2

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the carb with the black Friday sale at Summit. Can anybody tell me which mopar throttle adapter I need, same as for an Edelbrock or for a Holley?

    Street Demon vs AVS2

I will save any further cam discussion for a later time, because without having nailed down a car, I don't know if I'll be using an existing short block or building one from scratch. I think the carb selection will stay the same no matter what I find.
