It had super stock springs, but did not sit too high.

275/60-15's on 15x8 rims with 4.25 backspace.

275/60-15 drag radials on 15x8 rims with 4.25 backspacing and big bolt pattern axles. They required a little rolling of the wheel lip. Previously with small bolt pattern axles they cleared fine.

If you look closely at this picture you can see the Nittos deforming. They aren't supposed to be wrinkle walls. Enlarge the picture and look at the inside tire.

I owned a set of those Nitto 555's. They are a hard sidewall tire, and in my opinion better suited to late model cars with more horsepower than torque. They were a bad match with my high torque stroker engine, and caused wheel hop no matter how I set up the rear suspension( I tried SS springs...

Saw this one at a car show (on a Studebaker) and I thought it looked neat. When I got up close to have a look, the spinners have "Halibrand Eng Culver City Calif" cast into them. I think the wheels might be new, but the spinners looked vintage.

I bought a set once for my previous cuda which has basically the same wheel well as a duster. They would not work as delivered. I had them widened 2 inches inside, so I ended up with a 15X10 with 4.5 backspace. That sure filled up the wheel wells.

This is the 215/60-15 replacement on the left, and the original 205/70-14 on the right. Pretty close in size, and they are both about 26 inches tall. That is about the maximum height that will clear the front lip of the fender.

Mine are original factory rims I acquired over the years. You would need to check who makes them now.

Here's another angle. They fit but they are fairly tight. If I hit a sharp bump the edge of the tread will contact the inner fender where it slopes inward. You also have to watch the clearance to the front of your wheelwell at the rocker. Also the fronts are about as tall as you can go...

I finally remembered to take a picture of the spacers. These are from the 1970's. They are made by Cragar and have a Part number29124 on them. The highlighted area on the front says Dart, Barracuda, Valiant. They are 1/4 inch thick. The other bolt patterns say Corvair and Pinto, Maverick, Vega.

I found a pair of original spacers when cleaning the garage. I think they are only about 1/4 inch thick though. I could take a pic and measure them.

I take mine off at the track, but still run them on the street.

The spare tire would be the same as the ones on the car. I believe if the car had dog dish caps the wheel was painted body colour but with hub caps it would be black.

They are nice on the street, but for a high torque drag car I don't think they hook as well as some of the others. I have them on my cuda, and am having traction issues I haven't been able to solve yet, and may have to go to another brand. Then again my stroker makes over 600 lb/ft of torque.

I have 15X6.5 wheels on the cuda, with 4.25 backspacing. 215/60-15 tires if that helps. Any taller and you will hit the lower fender lip.
