    Alignment Help

I use a piece of wood as a straight edge and a digital angle finder and put trash bags with copious amounts of WD under the tires for turn plates.

Race cars don’t need sway bars! Haha. JK always awesome when you don’t have to modify stuff to make it work

    73 Duster 340 Suspension Recommendations

I've got some good used Hotchkis front shocks for sale. These shocks were an amazing improvement over KYB garbage. Only selling because I switched to an HDK. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/hotchkis-front-shocks.556851/

Completely unrelated to your current discussion, but this photo makes it look like you have a ton of positive caster. Did you align the car yet?

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I have no intentions of shortening the arms. While widening my front wheels isn't exactly cheap, it's much cheaper than buying another set of wheels.

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

Lots of space at the UBJ. Currently the limit of steering stops the tire about 1/2-3/4" away from contacting the frame rail. The next closest interference is the tie rod to the wheel. Once I have a wider wheel, the tie rod would likely contact the wheel, but the tire will contact the frame rail...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I am the OP, keep up. I suppose you've never read a magazine or new article, or book with a title that draws you in only to learn something from the contents of such article. It's pretty much English 101. BTW, you still haven't shown everyone your car. With your expertise of everything the sun...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I'm not here to get into non-data driven speculative arguments. I'm not even reading comments from some participants. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss the autocross session this weekend. I am going to try a small alignment change (reducing negative camber) prior to the March event and I plan to...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I intend to make something once the G3 is in there. No point in making making something now that may interfere with the intake on the G3. I also need to consider how much less space will be available due to the width of the G3. I have some preliminary ideas that will tie both shock towers and...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

The diameter of the stud on the 2" is considerably larger than the 1". The 2" is just under 1" diameter. I didn't measure the 1". Allstar Performance makes many parts for the dirt track and roundy round world. While I doubt they are tested to meet OEM production car use, I'm willing to take the...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I was trying to prevent this thread to get back to the strength debate, but I'll address this and I'm done. @goldduster318 I can appreciate the deep investigations from your engineering mind. I'm an EE and can get down in the weeds on many topics as it pertains to electric power generation...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

It’s funny how defensive you are getting. My next comment will be from the street racing days - Where’s your car? Let’s line them up. I’ll be at Moparty in September. I don’t care if you’re on a Speed tech chassis with 335/ square with a redeye engine. Let’s see who’s faster around the cones...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I actually looked for some cheap used vette spindles locally to take measurements. My biggest hurdle would be the upper ball joint since it’s mounted in the spindle. My thought was to have a ball joint “plug” made with a taper. That way the standard UCA could be used. Unfortunately, I don’t know...

I'm definitely not trying to portray this image! I'm just a dude trying to be slightly better than average and have a good time doing it. I also like to learn new things and help other people learn from my experiences. It's best to ignore these guys...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

Of course it is because there is no measurable value for human perception. However, as previously mentioned, my passenger who has been in the car for many miles commented that it "felt better". He was simply a passenger with only his *** being the connecting point to the car, no steering...

Calm down buddy. This thread isn't meant to be a pissing contest on which is better, worse, stronger, weaker, prettier, heavier, or whatever. You can find other threads to go flex on with that nonsense. I refuse to engage and turn this into anotherthread with the same repeated comments. This...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

This is irrelevant data since it isn't bolted to a car. You're also pulling on shock towers that have been known to have some failure problems. HDK doesn't use this design.

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

Forgot to address this one in my previous post. I've been running an 8" wide wheel with a 235 since I put the car back on the road with T-bar setup. I'm sure you know how hard it is to find an off the shelf wheel with the proper backspacing (for the front and back). I was wanting a 9" wheel for...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

So far on this thread I have not commented on how much stiffer the car feels with the HDK. I'm sure most will call BS or say it's psychological, but the car feels stiffer with the HDK. Based on the commentary, perhaps I'm the only that has gone from a well built t-bar setup to the HDK for a real...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I started with 400lb springs. Changing to the 450lb was a "knee jerk" reaction to trying to solve the body roll issue. Now I know the problem wasn't spring rate or sway bar size, it was the long roll couple. While I was making the adjustments, Denny and I discussed making a bigger sway bar. I...

I'm happy you finally chimed in Peter! @BergmanAutoCraft . DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I think I covered it in my build thread. I’d have to go back and look. Although, it’s likely changed a bit since I’ve increased track width slightly. Probably not enough to make a difference. For reference, I have 450lb springs now.

When driving straight down the road, rock the steering wheel. There will be a dead spot where the car doesn't react. That spot doesn't exist with a rack.

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

The prices of Denny's kits are published on his website, moparsuspension.com. Spindles and brake kits are left up to the buyer. The wheel opening of the front fender is 24.5" from the ground. This is an irrelevant point since different tire heights will change the position of the control arms...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I have his complete package. Denny's kit works with any M2 spindle. I have a couple items that differ from his standard A-body kit. I now have his B-Body LCAs because they are longer and I wanted to widen the track width more than I felt comfortable with having the A-body LCAs adjusted. He also...
