New upgrade for the spring, 16:1 steering box! Now if it would just get above zero degrees here in Ohio so I could heat the shop, I’d get it installed. Should be fun at the autox next time!

Haha, thanks! I’ll try to do a better job of keeping up on here, I’ve been just trying to enjoy the car after the long build! th

Thanks guys, I guess I worded that wrong, lol! I really didn't do much on the car for a long time, I was just enjoying it. I started the body work at the end of August, so it wasn't down for too long!

So I haven't been on here in a good while, no real updates to the build to to this point and nothing has broken lately! I was tired of the aftermarket quarter panel causing the gas cap to leak all over the primer. The dish for the fuel filler was misshaped, and the cap would bottom out before...

    My Duster Adventures

I didn't realize it was that long since I've been on here, that's awesome that it's up and running, congrats! I beat my 5.9 Dakota for years in front of the v6 ax15 in that, so you should be good for a while!

Got my "new" trans in yesterday, the Dart is back in business! I had to pull the old one apart to see the damage...a mans got to know his limitations, lol!

    1969 Swinger 340

Well I haven't posted in a while, I've just been driving this thing a bunch, when the weather permits. So I decided to throw my mustang wheels from my Dakota on the car for a bit, mainly because I wanted to try autocross with a slightly better set of tires. Two days later, I found the limit of...

So no progress on the car, it's in the garage hibernating, but if anyone follows the web show Roadkill, my Dart made it in for a few seconds! Over the summer they came through Cincinnati and my son and I met Freiberger and Finnegan, real cool guys. There was a good shot of my dart around 3:59...

    Diy paint/high school budget

I have always used ppg stuff, they have an economy brand called Omni that I have sprayed for years that is very good for the money. If you are doing a solid color, a single stage paint will be easy to spray and get even color/gloss. I personally prefer basecoat clearcoat in everything, that...

    Diy paint/high school budget

I've painted a few cars over the last 15 years, starting with my first in high school. I have no training in it, and learned by trying, with mixed results. The first mistake I made in high school was using sealer instead of a high build sandable primer. Any body work I did showed up, even the...

    1969 Swinger 340

Thanks! So far the ax15 has been a trooper, I have driven this thing really hard for almost 3 thousand miles this summer, and no issues. I don't have sticky tires on it, so I may find out how strong it is when I finally bolt slicks on it. I have a 95 Dakota that was a v6 truck with an ax 15...

I'm a dumbass, but not for the reason I originally thought. I woke up one morning and realized what I did. When I swapped rear center sections, I took the u joint straps and layed them under the car. One of them was a big yoke, the other was small. I managed to put the large straps on the...

    1969 Swinger 340

So I screwed up...when I swapped gears I also went from a cone type to clutch type sure grip. Forgot about the thrust buttons being different, and slammed it together with my green bearings. After driving it to work a couple times, it has a hum in the rear axle when it gets warm, and I'm...

New to Fourm & new to Mopar

Cool car, I like that year of darts! You may try popping the door panel off and see if that chrome fell off inside the door. I was in the same situation on my dad's satellite, and it was laying in the door bottom!

Project LoPar - 68 Plymouth Valiant 4 Door

Love low cars, love four doors, this is cool! I'll be watching!

    1969 Swinger 340

I've pretty much been just enjoying the car lately, and trying not to work in it for a bit. After talking to another member (75slant), I had the itch to swap rear gears. I played with a gear ratio calculator, and with my ax15's low first and second gear, my 3.23's were actually too low of a...

    1969 Swinger 340

I hear ya, my 5.9 Dakota ran about the same, and it never felt slow! I guess the reason I was initially disappointed was my 07 charger hemi that weighs 4200+ went 14.23 last year, and my dart (2900 with me in it) feels like it pulls harder. The 2.40 60' is pretty telling of why my dart is not...

    1969 Swinger 340

Finally took the dart to the dragstrip for test and tune, and put a number on this thing. 14.19 at 100.67 was the best time. At first I was pretty disappointed, but being that I didn't build it for the strip and have skinny street tires on it, it's not too bad. Definitely has no traction off...

    1972 Scamp, my regular cruiser

Love the color matched wheels and new dog dishes! I'm not a purist, but something about mopars with body color wheels just looks right!

    1969 Swinger 340

Drove the dart 240 miles this weekend, first to a cars and coffee event on Saturday, then to Cincinnati to see the roadkill guys! My son and I like their show, and we caught up with them and met them at a scheduled stop. Definitely cool guys, and a fun little road trip!

Will do, the corvette museum has that new road course, if I upgrade some things on the dart I'd like to play with it there!

I was looking through the photo gallery from directly connected online magazine, and found one of my Dart in it. Pretty good shot, makes it look way nicer than it is!

    1969 Swinger 340

Good to meet you this weekend Caleb, got to meet a few members and a bunch of new people as well! Saturday had good turnout, and the weather was nice as well. Made contact with future Mopar students, and most people seemed to like the Dart. You either dig it, or ya don't, lol! The best...

So the pinion seal is fixed in the dart, it got really bad lately, to the point of me worrying about running it dry. Good to drive it again, it had been a few weeks! Now to clean up the primer and get it ready for Mopar nats!

    1969 Swinger 340

So I haven't been on here in a bit, and I haven't done much to the dart lately...I have a short attention span! I've been working on my old four door belvedere, and finally painted it in my barn a few weeks ago. Now it's time to get back on my dart! I've put over 1700 miles on it so far, but...

    1969 Swinger 340

New tach from Speedhut showed up yesterday, I mounted it similarly to a s/s dart, but without the extra gauge. It doesn't take away any visibility, because the scoop is there anyway!

    1969 Swinger 340

Thanks! I figured I could fit bigger, but with my 7" diplomat wheels and the price of the tire, I went with these for now. I have a 3" spring relocation kit for the car, and I'll have to buy real wheels and tires when that goes in!
