Hard to find good, modern tires for handling in a 15 inch anymore, so going BBP allows a much larger selection of tires in 17 inch and larger sizes....
I run 15x8 with 3 1/2 backspace on the rear of my duster, and had to trim the outer 1/4 panel lip. Your fronts would look a bit odd to me being that wide.
The beige duster/demon of 72bluNblu and the Kenny wayne sheppard duster are the only two in this thread that look decent IMO. Stance looks good, with none of the goofy offsets that most people put on there car.
Aero wheels are very decently priced, you can get 15x8 in silver or black for about 60 bucks, chrome for about 80 from places like speedway motors, day motorsports, summit racing ect. A big benefit with race wheels, is you have backspace choices...
I seen it, it didn't rub cause it looked like it had no suspension travel to speak of. You can do the same thing with a go kart. Looks like they both handle similar..
That's a pretty BAD way to gain clearance, if you need to lay the top of the tire in 1/2 inch to not rub, your going to have excessive negative camber, and it will be a good way to wear your tires uneven. I would get the correct offset wheels and call it done.
This is incorrect as has already been pointed out. The BBP disk brakes are wider than the SBP disc brakes on the 72 and older cars, that's the only thing I know of that widen the front track width. Ever notice cars with the BBP disc swaps tires always stick out wider? Looks goofy in my opinion..
